In the last hour the weather has become wetter, the sky has darkened and the wind has risen. Lovely mid-summer.My coffee and chat was more pleasant than I anticipated yesterday. I had something brewing in my mind which needed to be said, nothing bad, and I did so it's off my chest and no harm done. Then I had another couple of tasks to get done before going back home. This morning I will do the chocolate shopping. 😀 I've decidedly, finally, to not take the larger cabin case after all, it's just daft. So, I'll only take what I can comfortably fit into my small case. If they want more I can post stuff later. I've ordered a folding walking stick for travelling. I'm not keen on them but don't want to take my lovely wooden one. It's really needed for climbing steps / stairs rather than walking these days so don't want to be taking the big one with me.Must away, the shower is beckoning to me. I hope that everyone is doing well.10

Morning,
It’s looking nice outside, sun peeping through the trees. Another quiet day planned, until my face has calmed down I won’t be visiting. Does anyone else get a very red, mottled face after vomiting?I do need to work on a structure for my days though, so I am going to do housework in the mornings and then I can do crafts, reading, etc in the afternoons. So, on that note, my plans for today are to tidy up the sitting room and spare bedroom. I will also email my friends and arrange FaceTime chats, and call mum for a chat. I feel like I am coming out from a long hibernation, having spent so many years in caring mode, the last four being particularly full on.
Thinking of you all.
Take care.

Morning All
Damp and dismal out this morning although the weather forecast is for it to dry up later. Tomorrow looks more promising so I'll save the washing until then.
Suddenly realised yesterday that I should oil the kitchen worktops before the decorator arrives so I've sanded them and did one coat last night and have just given them another. Hopefully one more coat later this afternoon should do. The kitchen is in complete disarray, it may have to be a takeaway tonight!
The little one seemed to enjoy her first couple of days at school, there's only one other in class from her nursery so it will take time for her to make new friends but she's fine - saw her yesterday enjoying her fishless fingers and chips for lunch! One really good thing is that there are only 14 of them in Primary 1 with one teacher and one early years educator.
I've allotments to visit today but they could be quick, I appear to be coming down with a cold so will take it easy - some sunshine would help!
Glad you're feeling better Peony, your face rash could be to do with the food that upset your tummy rather than the vomitting.
When do you go away Ruby?
Hope you're ok Scarlet, missing you posting.
Happy chocolate shopping Gers! Glad you enjoyed your coffee and chat.
Sounds like things are coming together Mehefin.
Hope you all have a good weekend, take care. XX

Morning all from Mehefinland,
Long session yesterday with the 'tell it once' website, as I had to find numbers for passport, driving licence etc. and Dawn was very good at squirreling things away. The passport was ok as it was with mine, Lord knows why we have them as we haven't been overseas since before DS was born and he is 31 in December! The driving licence was a 'challenge'. How many handbags do you ladies have lol? Stuffed to the gunnels with all sorts of receipts from years ago, bits and pieces of I know not what, ibuprofen tablets by the score etc etc. Eventually found the offending beastie tucked in a plastic bag in handbag no 6 which was also in a plastic bag. Good job I wasn't in a rush.
I now have to re insure and tax her car !! What a palaver. Apparently I can 'claim' her NCD for the car for the new insurance. I am struggling with this one, as I always assumed the NCD related to the person, not the vehicle. I spoke to a few insurers call centres ( or tried to!) but still none the wiser. Will go back to her original insurer and see what they say. The comparison sites come up with some pretty scary numbers even so. Best part is, I was paying the flipping things anyway! It will get sorted eventually.
Dull and dreary here in Sarf Wales but supposed to improve later. Yeah, heard that one before. Might cut the grass. Might not.
Hugs and spoons as always
Mehefin.
Just as a passing thought, and at the moment I am full of them!!
I know we all hide behind our user names, but nobody from here would know me from Adam. I am Derek, and Mehefin is the Welsh word for my birth month which is June, and also the real name of Scoobymare. x

Morning everyone
Cloudy and windy here this morning - hopefully the sun will pop out later. At least my washing will dry.
DD and little one are away back to Newcastle to the hospital! Yesterday her sugars kept going really low and then, after she'd had a nap in the afternoon, she had a rash. DD took her over to our local hospital and the doctor said he thought it was viral. When she's woke up this morning the rash is worse, her sugars are too low so off they've gone again. I can imagine little one isn't at all happy about going back to hospital, she's scared of it now bless her.
So...I'm going to hang my washing out then go for some shopping - might as well call at mam and dads for a cuppa on the way, as it's easier than explaining to her on the phone.
Gers - enjoy your trip to Germany, I hope you manage to find your way out of Frankfurt airport!
Camelot - glad to hear little one enjoyed her first couple of days at school. Little one is lucky to be in a small class too, though this year there will be 2 year groups in one classroom - still only 15 children. I'm just hoping she's well enough to go back in September, we've still got 2 weeks so fingers crossed.
Right, better get on - hope everyone has a good day x11 -
Hi everyone,
Nice to meet you Derek, I name my relatives so it would be hypocritical of me not to introduce myself by name - I am Sue but there must be lots on here so it's probably better that I'm snoozer. I just have one handbag at a time except when I need a posher one for weddings and funerals, I can't be bothered with all the faff of swapping things over.
I'm off to have my repeat colonoscopy today. I've had two without sedation, just using gas and air but the last one was quite painful so I'm going to opt for the sedation and hope it works, it doesn't always with me. I've passed it down to Chris as well, they tried to sedate him for three hours once and then just yanked his wisdom tooth out without any pain relief because they couldn't give him any more! He'd told them he needed general anaesthetic but they refused him and when I said to the Dr about the genetic thing he said we probably had low pain thresholds. I could have clocked him but just told him that I had given birth without pain relief and left it at that.
The family have gone camping with friends for the weekend. Esben will love it, apparently he dashed off with a couple of eight year olds as soon as they arrived. He's so like Laura, she'd have friends as soon as we arrived anywhere while Chris hung around on the sidelines hoping to be asked to play.
Have a good day.

Morning all, the sun is shining here but it's not very warm, only 13 degrees and will hit a high 19 degrees later. Yesterday we checked the tap in the van again, all good and no leaks thank goodness, that was really bugging us. There were some items missing from my sm delivery (OOS) and some swaps but nothing major that I can't work around. I rang Dad too and he liked the carer but she didn't do much as he said he was too ill to get washed and dressed and wouldn't eat any breakfast. At least I know he's up in the mornings as I was worrying that he couldn't get out of bed. I really don't know what else to do for him, he's refusing most of everyone's suggestions and he seems to be fading away slowly.
Today I seem to have woken up with a painful neck and shoulders, the culprit may have been a cool draught from the open bedroom window last night, so I'll have a soak in the bath this morning and hopefully it will help. This afternoon I am going to help DD, or try to as she has a stall at a local fete with her "Secret Storybooks" venture. She seems to be doing quite well but getting them out into the wider community can't hurt, almost free advertising !
Hope you all enjoy your Saturday. Hugs to anyone in need.
Take care all
