Admin fee + fine

Hi, newby here thus be gentle. Long story short took a car hire in February, all sorted and done. In July i got an email from the rental company saying I have got a fine for a toll. And they have paid it and as part of the agreement with my details ( all correct) it states that I m liable to 55 admin fee for any fine etc ... I can accept I m liable to pay the fine but I m disputing that they are seeking the admin fee and fine after 6 months etc ( there is not mention in the agreement in the time they can chase) . I m happy to pay the fine but disputing the admin fee ( in view of the time it has taken for them ) . They are saying it would be passed to a recovery agency

If the agreement says they can impose an admin fee for this, then I don't think waiting six months is really going to make a difference. Check though that they really can. Normally they talk about fines and penalties. Where was this unpaid toll from? Does legislation cover their ability to impose fines/penalties if it's unpaid? For example, the Dartford crossings are enforceable, but others we have seen are not.1
