Morning! Sunny! Went to ikea with friends last night, mainly to eat meatballs. I came away with some bags and six long teaspoons. Ever since I tried them, they're so much better for making tea because you never burn your fingers stirring or hoiking out teabags. I'm getting a headd, shoulder, neck massgae later on, never had one before, only sports massage on my feet, but my neck has been really hurting the last few days and giving me a headache so I thought why not. Building continues apace, the walls are nearly at roof height, which remind me, I need to go out this morning for bread and eggs otherwise there'll be no bacon sarnies later.dp1, good to hear you've finally had your cuddles and she's doing better. Yes, she's definitely coped well with things that a child shoulnd't have to, just shows how resilient she is. Nanny, glad you've got something sorted for your dad at last, rubbish news about Mr Fixit, hopefully there's a lot fo scope for rallying. Coxy, good luck for nice weather on your next joggle trip
Ruby, what recipe do you use for those? I've got some cucumbers that could do with a new life as something else..Izzy, I did laugh at your !!!!!! star dog
Take care all, guess what? Yep, off otomake tea....

Morning all. Thanks for starting us off @taff. Building work is certainly rolling on.I'm meeting an acquaintance for coffee and chat this morning and will drop off the 4.5 tog duvet off at the dry cleaners. Then I will rethink my packing as I've been requested to take chocolate of various makes over to Germany, not only for the wife of birthday cousin but also for the grandchildren of other cousin so will need the larger cabin bag. I've already ordered the requested single malt at the airport.Hugs and spoons to all. Thanks for the lovely quips from your little one @DP1. She'll bounce back soon.10

Morning taff & all. Glad the building work is progressing. I did notice the thread hadn't been started, hope everyone is ok. It's an odd day here, down to 12 degrees and was very misty when I got up, bit brighter now though. Not much to prattle on about today really, DH has taken his old car in for a new exhaust, DS1 followed to bring him back. It feels very quiet here as neighbours on each side are away.Dp1 it's lovely to hear about L.O's return home and lots of cuddles.DS2 called with DGS after tea , after their football training, mainly to show off his new boots I thinkMy old neighbour and son were pleased to see me, the only people they tend to see are carers, apart from a cousin and another friend who used to help a lot but now is working.Right time for a coffee, take care folks.:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Morning everyone I’m off out to do my volunteering soon at the food waste it’s going to be a warm one I will put a wash load in when I come back I’ve got old clothes on because there’s always a burst box or a burst yogurt and I come back filthy so I will throw them straight in to wash . Taff that massage sounds wonderful I’ve had a back massage before and it felt great afterwards I’m intrigued by the sports massage on your feet I’ve never heard of that before I’ve got very dodgy feet but I’ve got really bad varicose veins and I know they won’t do your legs but if I thought I could have my feet done I would be up for that .DP1 it’s nice to hear the little one is home but it must be hard seeing her like that poor little mite she has been through such a lot I hope there’s a big improvement in her health soon . Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing9

Morning all,
It’s going to be a quiet day here, I foolishly ate 1/2 a bacon and cheese pastry slice last night and it won! I have been up all night vomiting, so I look like I have been in a boxing match. Since being older I cannot eat pastry or greasy foods.
So I think it will be a day of sitting in the garden.
Take care.

Moring all from Mehefinland
Hi Taff - another early bird? been awake since 4.30 churning things around.
Had a great meeting with the celebrant yesterday. She was lovely, and a kindred soul in that she has dogs, and rides out horses for someone. We had a very long chat , and she came to see said beasties too. Think she was blown away by Showman; he is a handsome boy, and lives up to his name. She is just 'right' for me in this role and we got on like a house on fire. She stayed for about 90 minutes. Likes my choice of poems too , which was a bonus. She was an English teacher for 25 years so we had a good literature natter too.
Still struggling a bit with music, but have decided on The Waterboys " whole of the moon" for the entry procession (its a good length for them all to find seats) , and T Rex " I love to boogie" at the end. Struggling with something in the 'reflective' part of the ceremony. I would love to have Vladimir Vysotsky's " Capricious Horses" as it is a raw, gut grabbing song, but DS has vetoed that.
had a few suggestions from my lil brother but don't thing Status Quo is appropriate. He also suggested Christy Moore's "Ride on" which I had never heard. Having now listened I think it is a very emotional song, and would have fitted to a tee, but DS doesn't like that either!! I've challenged him to come up with something, but time is running out as we need to let the FD know as soon as. One of the problems of trying to do things over a distance.
Got Wills back for m solicitor, and sorted Building Society out too, so a productive day in some ways
Hugs and spoons as always. Thank yo for your support

It definitely has an autumnal feel about it this morning, there's dew on the grass & it's a bit chilly!
WFH today, relatively easy this week & the next 2 weeks as I will only have one of my 2 execs due to them both taking leave, then I'm off for a week in early September. Things have settled down at work again now, apart from the police investigation & inquests.
Nanny, at least you can relax a little & focus on yourself & MrFixit now your dad has some support in place.
Dp1, so pleased that your little one is settling back home.
Camelot, how has your little one taken to big school?

Morning everyone
Thanks for the good wishes for little one, it was lovely to see her, but a bit of a shock too though DD had warned me she'd lost a lot of weight. She'd slept for 4 hours after I left.
I may be seeing them later but first I'll go down to mam and dads to do his banking.
Gers - the things eldest DD usually requests I take to Germany are paracetamol, ibuprofen and lemsip! All of which are a lot more expensive there. I used to take Cadburys chocolate but she's quite happy with German chocolate now.
Peony - I hope you feel better later.
Camelot - did your little one enjoy her first day at school?
hope everyone has a good day today x10 -

I've sent you a PM with my suggestion. I love it and would choose it if I were having that kind of send off. x
