Hi, I am moving house in a chain and was shortly due to complete, however one of the parties in the chain hasn’t redeemed their help to buy and it’s just been noticed.

Has anyone recently redeemed their help to buy and how long did it take to get the pack etc to the solicitor and then finally complete? The admin fee and form is due to be submitted next week after the valuation.

  • I would advise the party that has help to buy to pester them continually.  They are very slow and don’t work proactively.  Currently trying to sell and redeem help to buy at the moment.  Fees and valuation submitted to them 2 months ago and now requesting additional documents due to difference in valuation and original purchase price.  Calling them takes hour long holds and constant referrals to managers/supervisors.  If I didn’t call them they would have just sat on it.

Their solicitor would have been fully aware of the fact. The party concerned was likely to have been optimistic in their outlook. As to how long things take to be resolved.

Thanks, is your valuation less than the purchase price? Are you moving home or just redeeming htb? How long did it take for the. To get back to you after the fees and valuation were submitted.
