Hi,

We have a large patio glazing unit that shattered on one side (stone from lawnmower) so needs replacing.  Glazing unit Size is approx 990mm x 2140mmx 25mm (thickness).

I was originally thinking to replace the whole patio door as it's quite old but costs are quite high (over 2000).

So I wondered if anyone could give a rough idea of what I might expect to pay for supply and fit of just the glazing unit including disposal of existing broken glass.

Ring round some local glaziers and ask for some quotes. Does your house insurance cover you for accidental damage?

Sis had a busted patio door. Some 'erbert tried quoting stupid money saying they could replace just the broken sheet of glass. She ended up getting a proper repair man in to fit a new sealed unit for £220 (but this was a couple of years back). Hopefully, you can get yours done for around £300.

Her courage will change the world.

Treasure the moments that you have. Savour them for as long as you can for they will never come back again.

There are outfits in most areas that specialise in just glazing unit replacement - get quotes from them, too.

Double patio doors recently, smaller than yours but we replaced both sides for about £350.
