Parking fine issued by UKPC - Not parked correctly within the markings of the bay or space

Hi,

i've just received a Parking charge from UKPC for 'Not parked correctly within the markings of the bay or space' from my local retail park. I was visiting next and was in a rush (hence the appalling parking)  (they must of been fast as I was only in the store for about 5 minutes).

the image of the parking notice sign that was sent to me as part of the notice is pretty much unreadable, is it worth me appealing on the basis that I can't read this sign ?

thanks

Even if the sign was clearly visible it fails PoFA in that it does not adequately bring to the drivers attention the charge for breaching the terms.

No appeal is going to be successful, nether with UKPC or POPLA. However, it will eventually lead to a claim and if the advice is followed, it will 99.99% likely lead to a discontinuation as per this thread:

DCB LEGAL RECORD OF PRIVATE PARKING COURT CLAIM DISCONTINUATIONS

Terrible parking discipline though by the driver. Have you tried Plan A yet and asked the retailer or the landowners managing agent to get the PCN cancelled?

  • Yes, appalling parking I know, I was rushing as were heading off camping straight after, i literally ran into Next to pick up a parcel and then ran back out !
  • Yes, i've written to the retail park landlord, fingers crossed then can get it cancelled !

I doubt it but hope they will. If not, sit tight, don't bother with the appeal farce. No paying.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
