BA e-Vaucher refund

In December 2021, during covid, BA cancelled my flight and issued me with a e-Voucher. BA no longer has the flights to the destination I need so I will not be able to use their e-Voucher in the foreseeable future. The e-Voucher expires in September 2024. Is there a way to get refund for the value of the voucher? The response from BA was "we don't refund e-vouchers". Even the whole situation was not my fault, it's me who is out of pocket now. Any ideas what I can do to reclaim my money? Thanks.

Not BA's fault that you've not previously used the voucher. Either use it or lose it.0

I don't think you can. I recall from the pandemic era that by accepting the voucher, you agreed to its terms and conditions. The time to insist on a cash refund was at that point.Catlover55 said:In December 2021, during covid, BA cancelled my flight and issued me with a e-Voucher. I managed to get a cash refund for £2000 ish for BA flights during Covid. It was a bit of a battle to get through and the automated systems tried to insist on an e voucher but after a long time on hold I did get through to someone and they duly refunded me immediately.
Think you might struggle 3 years on though.

Yes, that seemed to be the situation for many people but as you say, pushing for what you're rightfully entitled to did result in proper refunds for those prepared to do so.mr_stripey said:I managed to get a cash refund for £2000 ish for BA flights during Covid. in my case, I distinctly remember the woman at BA who answered my call was upset and was said I was the only person who had not been rude to her or shouted at her that shift. A little charm went a long way on that occasion!

Nothing has changed in that regard..........mr_stripey said:in my case, I distinctly remember the woman at BA who answered my call was upset and was said I was the only person who had not been rude to her or shouted at her that shift. A little charm went a long way on that occasion!0 -
I think you might be posting on the wrong board - get it moved to Overseas holidays & travel planning — MoneySavingExpert ForumCatlover55 said:In December 2021, during covid, BA cancelled my flight and issued me with a e-Voucher. BA has many partners, on whose flights it might be valid. Do check whether you can use that voucher to pay for tickets that would be of some value to you.

Unfortunately, once you accepted the voucher you are bound by its conditions which no doubt says it can't be converted to cash or its cash value is 1p.
Does it limit who can travel on it. Is there anyone else looking totravel who could make use of it with you as the person who books the flight? Might not work if your name is not one of the travellers.0 -
There were some issues with refunds not being obvious / made easy (had to phone) initially and BA did eventually agree to give cash refunds for some vouchers - "passengers who received an eVoucher for a cancelled flight between 9 March and 19 November 2020 can swap it for cash"

not that this helps the OP as by December 2021 the option for cash refund was simpler.
