I am defo not considering the S&P500. But defo a fund like u mentioned above with higher global equities.

I agree, that every year will not be the same and there will be fluctuations. I am ready for this. But overall as I contribute to my DC pension, I want the core contribution to be growing well.

It seems most of people just want to beat inflation with growth. which is fine. But I want a bit more aggression. But thanks all for your comments thus far.

I think most people want some growth above inflation, and a fund with 60/70% equities would normally do that for you over a long period of time. Maybe even 3 or 4 % above inflation, but from a forecasting point of view and the possibility of a prolonged downturn , better to aim a bit more pessimistically.

Its been a good 1 year since i posted, and took decisive action on my pension pot. Moving from default funds to something with more equities. And its defo moved me in the right direction.

Checked it all yday and new funds are up 11% on the year, whereas my default fund is up 7% since 2020!!

So anyone else in the same boat, should do some research and move from the default fund!!!

Markets have been rising. Very possibly it won't go on forever.
