Morning all
Overcast here and a bit cooler it’s meant to be like this all day tomorrow is better though.
Mehefin you will settle on the right music soon you will hear something which will be perfect, I chose ‘I wish I knew how it would feel to be free’ by Nina Simone for my brothers funeral the words were just right for him it still makes me cry now xxx
I made a load of bread and butter pickles yesterday they have been draining with salt overnight to keep them crisp so I need to jar them today, I think I’ve done about 8 jars which should keep us going for a while.
Dinner today will be the leftover gammon from the other night with mash and peas, we ended up having a quick pizza and salad last night as I was shattered for some reason.
Nan sending hugs to you xxx
DP1 so glad little one and her mummy are home let’s hope she continues to improve xxx
Have good days all and take care xx10 -
Morning all and thanks for the start @Mehefin – glad you are getting things sorted. Can well imagine how difficult it is to get your head in the right place to deal with it all x
Glad to hear little one is home @dp1 x
Great that your Dad will be getting a carer @nannywindow – such a lot going on for you right now x
Well done for saying No @IzzyBee x
One meeting to attend today and then I’ll be running home as the temp is due to drop to a more manageable 21 degrees. Has been far too hot these past few days to consider it. Dinner tonight is grilled salmon – found some odd fillets in the freezer.
DH was unsuccessful after 2nd interview for a one year contract role, so back to looking although it’s becoming more half-hearted by the day. Think he will wait until we have moved house to look properly.
I am gearing up for my next JoGLE stretch, which starts on Friday next week. This time, Gloucester to Tiverton over 10 days. I am making some crocheted forget me nots to leave along the way (did hearts last time). Just need to acquire some small bags to put them in.

Morning all, I'm late today - getting ready to go and visit my housebound neighbour from where we lived before moving here. I don't get chance often as we both moved further away in opposite directions but today I was unexpectedly free of childminding duties. She moved into a ground floor flat with her wheelchair user DS. When she first came out of hospital after her last op, she was in a wheelchair too so space was at a premium. I think her son quite enjoys seeing a different face too. Dh is going to drop me off today.Izzy laughing at your photo - I can't do that, I'd be crushed
She looks far too comfy to move.
Damp and drizzly today. I had my Oc order early so will use something from that for tea later.Continuing thoughts to Mehefin, Nan,Peony, dp1s L.O. sorry if I missed anyone there:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)9 -
Morning all, after our busy couple of days we're having a quiet one indoors as we're both shattered, so hopefully no more running around today. I woke up this morning and thought it was Friday, I'm obviously losing the plot !
It's raining today with very grey skies and I have some clothes to put away that had been finishing off on the airer in the spare bedroom and then a pair of trousers to shorten as I find it difficult to buy trousers at the right length for me, I seem to be getting shorted as I get older 😁. There are other things like ironing that I can do but I'm just walking past the basket with blinkers on at the moment 😂 I have to check the food stores too ready for an online shop.
Camelot hope today goes ok back at school.
Mehefin I'm sure you'll choose the right one. I want "I've had the time of my life" from Dirty Dancing and Mr Fix It wants "Always Look on the Bright Side of Life" by Monty Python. I'm sure you'll choose the right one.
Peony I'm with you as I hate using the phone too, hope you get things sorted today.
Coxy I'm sorry that your DH was unsuccessful, I hope the right job comes along very soon. Good luck on your next JoGLE.
Izzy 🤣 Now get out of that without moving 🤣
Enjoy your day everyone, whatever you have planned.
Take care all, hugs to anyone in need.

Hi everyone,
At last, Mehefin. I know I'd have been chomping at the bit to get on with things. I have no thoughts on music because I'm not really a fan, I'll have to have a think. I'll also have to ask Steve because he is a music fan but he shies away from discussing death. A couple of horse metaphors in there, very appropriate.
Yesterday we took the children over to see Crystal and Nate, the two little ones behaved as not quite two year olds do ie ignored each other unless the other one had something they wanted and then it was mayhem. Esben was very good with them though.
Today Esther has been at nursery, she is starting to tell us the things she has done. Today they were in the garden (she has made up a sign for garden based on the opening of In the Night Garden where the adult draws on the child's hand with their finger) and she played on the slide. Esben is at holiday club and will no doubt not remember what he has done!
Steve has gone to paint at Chris and Crystal's and I have made batches of granola, mocha squares and savoury flapjacks. I want to do some ironing as well, all my linen stuff has been worn and washed and is waiting to be ironed.
Hugs to all that need one.7 -
Hello everyone
Sorry I'm last today. I went down to see DD and little one this morning. Bless her she's still white and looks so thin - she told me she's shrunk 2cm too! There wasn't much to her before but she's so skinny now.
DD had already told me that little one is very worried about seeing anyone in case they give her germs and she has to go back to hospital, so I took hand gel down and we both put some on and then we had a lovely long cuddle on the sofa. She was delighted with the bag of bits I brought back from Germany for her, especially the giant pencil. She was also thrilled to show me the gap in her front teeth - she's bit into an apple yesterday and 'I couldn't believe my eyes my tooth was stuck in the apple!'
We sat and did some colouring and she told me about having scans ' I wasn't properly asleep just sedated to make me lie still', anaesthetics 'you get those when you have to lie even stiller', picc lines 'it didn't go right into my heart just next to it' - things a 5 year old shouldn't know about....but it was lovely just to hear her voice again. Then she said 'you know what I woke up on Sunday and I just thought I'll order roast beef for dinner!'
When I left she was cuddled up with DD on the sofa watching a movie and pretending they were at the cinema.
I went along to our nearest cafe and met a friend I work with where we both had a lovely cooked breakfast and a very long chat. The rest of the afternoon I was very lazy and read my book and had a chat with eldest DD who was off as it's a holiday in Germany so she'd spent the day at the outdoor pool.
Can't remember who said they thought it was Friday today, but so did I . I was having a good grumble to myself because I hadn't been paid - well that was because it was Thursday x8
