Seeking recommendations for kitchen extractor fan without external vent
Hi everyone,
I recently discovered that my kitchen extractor fan does not have a vent to the outside. My flat was built in 2017, and I'm concerned about whether this setup is compliant with building regulations. I've been struggling to find any specific laws that address this issue.
I'm wondering if anyone here has faced a similar situation and can offer some advice. Specifically:
1. Is it legal for a kitchen extractor fan to lack an external vent in a flat built in 2017 in England (London)?
2. Can I claim or request that the construction company retrofit a vent to the outside? If so, what would be the best way to approach this?
Any insights, personal experiences, or advice would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance for your help.

For a 2017 build, that would likely be the 2010 version plus amendments in 2010 and 2013.0 -

Having looked at the 2013 amendments, there doesn't appear to be any for Part F. However, the document linked to above should include any changes.BarelySentientAI said:

I doubt that the original developer would entertain making any changes - They may well quote statute of limitations and tell you that as it was more than six years ago, you'll need to pay for the work. You might have better luck with the freeholders, but you can expect an increased charge for the next year or three.
Any language construct that forces such insanity in this case should be abandoned without regrets. –
