Virgin Atlantic Credit card- Nationwide Takeover of Virgin money

I'm new to the forum... 

Re Virgin Atlantic credit card 

I travel to and from UK and South Africa. 
I was informed by Virgin that South Africa is deemed as a high risk country and therefore I am unable to use my card in SA. They are now going to close my account and told me my debt will be paid off.  

I use my Virgin Card to accumulate Virgin Miles. 

Will this affect my credit score. 

Any advice will be appreciated

Virgin will expect you to pay the debt back yes, they will not pay it off for you

Nobody but you sees the gimmick score, don't worry about it. Any credit application will involve a hard search on your credit file but the odd one every so often won't be a major issue
