wine coolers..anyone got one...

Options
Hi All!

Could only find one mention in a forum search, so wondered if they're a gimmik, or worthwhile? At this price, it's not much more than the cost of a couple of units & it'd replace one, anyway.

Saw this in Comet today http://www.comet.co.uk/cometbrowse/product.do?sku=410489&cm_sp=FeatureEnd-_-Wine_Chillers-_-position2- seems good value & thought it'd look OK next to http://www.comet.co.uk/cometbrowse/product.do?sku=391190

They will be IKEA gloss white units, with their black laminate (sorry Doozergirl) worktops. All open plan area 10m x 6m in www.theupsidedownhouse.9f.com once we get it put back together again!!

& as I don't drink, it'd be for show & Coke n Pepsi mostly.

Except when you all come around for the house warming Moneysavers party!!

  • We bought a Wine Cooler from John lewis a couple of years ago. To be fair, it does store white wine at the "correct" temperature - but we found it was not cool enough for cokes and stuff. Also, we actually like white wine to be really cold.....especially when we get a decent summer......It's been relegated to the garage I'm afraid and we bought another fridge instead.

My local Tesco are doing a very pretty american looking Baumatic one for £179. We were going to put one in the big house but they all seem to be odd sizes and we needed a 60cm one. Plus a cupboard worked out cheaper, LOL!

If you don't drink though, you can give it to me if it doesn't work out :o

We had a lovely time with santa, thanks for your message:)

Know what you mean about odd sizes - we've space at the end of the unit run, to take it, though.

It will mean being below the last of 5 400 wall units, next to the LG fridge, so another 20cm or so, beneath the worktop, won't look too unbalanced - I hope.

There are a couple on http://www.baumatic.co.uk/products/catalogue/refrigeration/winecoolers are they in Tesco stores, can only find the model 40 on line. Difficult to find anyone with a reasonable range to look at in real life.

    So much for impulse buys!!

Thought that the cost of a cupboard @ £50, or the cooler for £150 wasn't bad for another 'feature', which will at some stage, get used!!
