Secure by booking - ticket protection

Hi, I booked tickets to see Journey the rock band in November at Liverpool.  The concert has been cancelled by the band but I am being told my ticket protection will not be refunded - anyone else had this problem?

I take it that is insurance in case you can not attend?
If it is, it won't be refunded as it was a extra.
Same as buying travel insurance & holiday being cancelled, you don't get it refunded.

Surely if the band cancelled then that would be "frustration of contract"
I would contact trading standards and see what they say.
Find out who you are and do that on purpose (thanks to Owain Wyn Jones quoting Dolly Parton)

I don't see how it frustrates the insurance contract though? The OP was still covered, until the point that the band cancelled.

I assume the ticket price is being refunded as the OP has not mentioned it not being refunded.

The band will not be party any extra insurance the OP paid for.
He has had cover from that up to now.

It won’t be refunded, the op has had the benefit of the insurance e.g. if there had been sickness, death etc.
