Volvo Car Rejection Help

Hello there.

sorry for the long post but not sure what/where else to go.

I own a Volvo XC60 Hybrid, on PCP Volvo Finance, collected in September 2023. The car was just over 2.5 years old.

After 8 weeks of ownership it broke down with a turtle limp mode symbol causing Volvo Recovery back to dealership who couldn’t find faults but stated it was software glitches and updated the software as a fix.

In June this year, and early July broke down with same issues again causing a further recovery and another visit to dealership.

I informed the dealer I wanted to reject the car after the second breakdown, and after the third informed Volvo finance.

The car has been at dealer since 9th July, I have no courtesy car and still paying finance etc.

Volvo finance have stated I can’t reject the car which was done over 6 weeks ago with no response and they are the only ones that can reject a car and their decision is final.

The useless dealership are stating as it isn’t in active fault then nothing to repair so they haven’t had a right to repair, though have fault codes to show the breakdowns. (Once sat after breakdown after 30 minutes car starts again and limp mode clears but as limp mode is less than walking pace can’t get it to the dealer with an active fault)

Volvo finance are stating I need to be reasonable in expectations, wanting a car that gets from a to b and is reliable as you’d expect. The dealership are going through the motions and as they can’t find any fault want me to have the car back, Volvo finance are saying I have to have the car back and even if it breaks down again if the fault isn’t active for the dealership to fix then I’d still have to have the car back then ( endless loop)

The car broke down on a live motorway and had I had my disabled son and wheelchair wouldn’t have made it to safety had it been on a smart motorway so am anxious about it all as I have said if they can fix the issue then great, but if they can’t then I don’t want to put my family at risk.

Volvo finance state that my consumer rights are protected by them who will be an arbitrator between my view and the dealerships, but they just seem to be in Volvo camp ignoring logic and my wishes/concerns.  They think the dealership have done enough and I need to give it a go. The first two breakdowns they are ignoring as not relevant.

Sorry for long post but I have no car so getting my son out and about is difficult and feel stuck with no protections.

Any help or advice please?
