Not sure how to compare staying with Octopus for a fixed tariff to switching.
Your gas consumption is almost twice that of mine, but electricity is half - You are already a frugal consumer !
The savings to be had by jumping to another supplier is only going to be a few pounds at best. So look at standing charges (that will be a major part of your bill) and any exit fees. Quality of customer services should also factor in to your decision - That would rule out EDF and BG.

I've just begun a switch to Outfox the Market as my 3yr fix with EDF is coming to an end. That fix worked well as I fixed just before I rates shot up and have been paying roughly half what I would have done otherwise

Agreed 1 year fix with OTM at a rate lower than/equal to the existing price cap. Checked this morning and EDFs fixes seem to have gone up again.

EDF have just told me that I have to have a smart meter on any fixed tariff because the prices might change!!!!!!!!

You'll probably find all suppliers have a clause in their T&C stating that you agree to having a smart meter fitted. Some tariffs such as Octopus Agile can not be accessed without a smart meter.

Yes I fully understand that but my comment was about them telling me the reason I had to have a smart meter was that prices might change during the fixed term.

Hi all. It’s nearly time for the next energy price cap to be announced, and an increase is predicted. I’m currently on the Octopus Tracker tariff. Going great so far, but a little nervous about heading into the colder months. Switch to a fixed tariff, or stay on the Tracker. Advice would be appreciated. Thank you
I'm also on Flexible Octopus and the current rates are
    E 22.10p kWh - Std charges 65.12p per day
    G 5.76p kWh - Std charges 28.91p per day

an Octopus fixed charge for the next 12 months is
    E 22.10p kWh - Stg charges 65.12p per day
    G 6.27P kWh - Stg charges 28.91 per day

Thats a £3.46 increase per month for me

I would suggest that E unit rate for current 12 month fix is highly unlikely to be the case being as previous two versions NLA both had higher unit rate

Current version matching SC you quote for both fuels

    Octopus 12M Fixed August 2024 v2
