Barclaycard and affordability complaint

I posted a couple of weeks ago in a total panic and full of anxiety about my debt (total £37k).
Since then I have read and read posts on this amazing forum and I have a much more positive attitude and ready to be debt free before I am a pensioner!
One of my longstanding debts is with Barclaycard. I must have had the credit card for 20 years or so. I have checked all my statements going back to 2015. I can see that up until November 2017 my credit limit was £10.5k and I was consistently at 90-95% of my credit limit. At that time BC upped my credit limit to £13.6k without me asking.
Is it worth making an affordability complaint? I know the counter argument is that no one put a gun to my head to spend but given my spending history I think it was clear that I was in persistent debt consistently paying the minimum or slightly over to round up. Has anyone had any success with a Barclaycard complaint?
Just a side note, I also calculated that in the last 6 years I have paid £18.6k in interest on that card which makes me feel a bit sick.
Thanks as always.

You can complain if something occured in the last six years or if you have only become aware that you can complain in the last three years. That might be your first hurdle as it's not easy to argue when you found out about something. Having said that I got a £15,000 interest refund when I complained about a Nationwide credit limit increase just over six years after it happened. It was a long drawn out process though, over two years from start to finish and I had to fight it every step of the way. I also had four other complaints that I lost. In my experience a win is more likely when you've had multiple increases rather than a single one.Your number one priority should be to get yourself into a sustainable position where you can pay everything off yourself. Once you are there you could give an affordability complaint a try, it doesn't cost anything so you have nothing to lose, but don't bank on winning it.This article is quite useful:
