Would the tall radiator that near the door hinder getting furniture in and out the room and be more prone to damage.
    Good point - possibly!
I've just measured and have 130mm between the wall and architrave.

This is the kind I was thinking about -  Milano Windsor - Vertical Four Column White Traditional Radiator - 1800mm x 470mm (bestheating.com)  which is 140mm not including brackets. So yes, it would obstruct. :-/
A radiator placed centrally on the back wall would look better in my opinion. And go for a low, wide one.

Treasure the moments that you have. Savour them for as long as you can for they will never come back again.
  • I would expect that for energy efficiency, heat 'escaping' into the hallway is better than heat going outside through the window.

That would restrict furniture too much without blocking the heat. I have changed a similar set up in another room for that reason, as it makes the whole wall unusable.

Thanks all. Weighing everything up, I think we will just put new radiators back in the existing location in the bay window.

The price of type 22s vs eye wateringly expensive column rads make this the best option, if not the prettiest.
