MPAN ... Who controls the Register please

I had my House built in 1995 and it was drained using a Pump which had its own Meter and therefore MPAN
My House of course had its own Meter and MPAN
Yorkshire Water then moved the Pumping Station off my Property which was a great move for me , and subsequently disconnected the Meter.
However I was a serial Switcher of Dual Fuels and 15 years ago ish I chose Yorkshire Electricity who ironically supplied the Pumping Station electricity for my dual fuel switch. They spectacularly messed up and my switch was delayed because they had tried to pick the MPAN of the Pumping Station as the Meter they were going to supply
Eventually they paid me a lot of compensation for their mishandling
Fast forward to 3 years or so ago I decided to go to OVO and they kept saying " switch almost done " etc etc till I asked after 3 months what was wrong. I then discovered they were applying to take over the Meter of the defunct Pumping Station via choosing the wrong MPAN.
The outgoing supplier Shell didn't tell them they had a different MPAN number and OVO didn't inform me of what was holding up the Switch
I spent 2 years fighting OVO after I saw the problem and eventually the Ombudsman ordered them to repay the amount of money they had overcharged me via not having a dual fuel deal and therefore a higher rate per kwh
So I have tried almost every body within the industry to try and get the defunct meters MPAN taken off the Register but to no avail
Even now when I apply for a switch some comparison Sites say " sorry there are multiple meters registered at your property so we cannot produce any quotes for you" so I am hoping that there is someone on here to advise me how to get the erroneous MPAN removed
*I am proactive now though as if / when I do another switch I will forward the "real" MPAN for my domestic supply to them upfront
Sorry for wasting and peace post but hopefully someone can help
Cheers jt

Best thing to do is contact your local DNO with the correct details and they will either sort it or tell you what to do. You can see who your DNO is by looking at your bill. Hopefully it's National Grid (formerly Western Power Distribution) who are excellent at this kind of thing.2

Thanks for interest and reply
I will look at Bill and try DNO . It will probably be "again" because I've tried multiple times and generally it's 1 who says try 2 who says , no it's 3 who of course refers me back to 1
I recently got an interest from someone who saw a post I'd done responding to a question somewhere. He sent me an email and asked for details and promised "action" we swapped emails for a couple of days then he said leave it with me .
I did but that was 7 or 8 weeks ago so probably a dead end now
Cheers jt0
