Faulty new leased car

Options
I leased a car via the manufacturer it was delivered with faults they could not recify. I went to the Motoring Ombudsman and he ruled they should have replaced the car but they refused. The Ombudsman made them terminate the lease but by this time a year had passed. Has anyone else had this problem and if so what should I be asking for in compensation?

I would base your claim on what you were paying per month and then factor this for the number of days that the car wasn't usable.

.e.g. if you were paying £400 pcm, that's roughly £13 per day.

If the car wasn't complete usuable, but you lost the use of certain features, then some fraction of £13 per day depending on the importance of the feature might be reasonable. Set out your working, so that anyone can adjust your figures if they feel you have got some aspect wrong.
The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.

What is wrong with the car?  Is it undriveable? Which brand?

Are we talking big faults (e.g. brakes don't work) or little faults (e.g. annoying squeak from the electric windows)?
    If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.

Compensation for what? You've provided no details. Teminating the lease presumably absolved you of a financial liablity.
  • Car was Volvo, Dealer told me it was a known software fault which caused internet module to constantly search for internet causing battery to go either fully flat or partially flat. when partially flat car would shut down none essential functions like sat nav, heads up, lock me out of car, seats going totally flat, all phone data etc erased from infotainment memory plus many others.
