I, on the other hand, don't use onedrive or Google drive and all my software is installed locally on my Windows 11 drive - the C drive

all my data on the other hand is on a separate logical drive - the d drive

I use Macrium reflect to take a system image of my c drive ie the system and settings and applications

I use alway sync to synchronise my data on my d drive to external hard drives

If that solution work for you then fair enough but it seems to me to be an outdated one. I can't remember the last time I needed to reimage a system.

Cloud services also give you the ability to access your documents from anywhere rather than them being locked away on a hard drive at home.

agreed about cloud services but I don't have broadband.

aslo agreed about never having to restore an image or a backup and I hope that I never do ! but that is the whole point of images and data backups

You can often get free licenses for older versions of Ashampoo Backup Pro. There tends to be very little difference in features in the newer versions anyway.
