Hey @Chocolatefund im really sorry to hear the bad run of events leading up to Christmas.
I for one would love you to make a new diary that i can follow closely. I have similar levels of debt to you, so would be fab to bust debt alongside you!
I think its a very wise investment, considering the extra miles you will be doing. You certainly shouldn't feel shameful.
You've got this!

Many thanks for the kind words. Last year was one of my lowest points I’ve ever had, but I’ve managed to bounce back and now I’m looking forward to the year ahead.
Despite the car hit to my finances, I did manage to stay on top of my investments. My Stocks ISA is up to £1455 and the SIPP is up to £6570. I’d love for this to hit £10k by the end of the year.
I’ve already made an overpayment to the loan and I’m going to use all the tools I learned in this diary to bust this debt in the next diary :)
Bring it, 2026!

I'm sorry you've had such a rubbishy time, and I get that the new car is a mixture of consolation, treat and necessity. Perhaps the way to think of it is that it will gradually pay for itself as it enables you to get to work and hopefully won't bring any of the wear and tear-type surprises that an older car could bring.
If you start a new diary, please put a link in each to the other one. 😊
