Thank you everyone for your help.

I have just come back from Lidl with a cordless drill 20V PABS 20-Li E6 (£19.99) and a box containing a 20V 2Ah battery (PAP 20 B1) and charger (PLG 20 C1) (£22.99 for battery and charger). It all seems to be just what I need (I remembered I have a heavy duty corded masonry drill).
Now all I need is the flat pack furniture which is being delivered next week!
