    ...Advice?  None really, sorry, other than questioning the matter with the garage to see if this is a clerical error rather than gamesmanship.
    Thank you for your explanation, it's turned out that it was indeed a clerical error (the lady got it wrong on the phone) thankfully!

    Not at all and thank you for letting us know.  It's the sort of error that does occur when those unfamiliar with VAT issue recharge invoices!
