Morning all. Today is already muggy, dull but humid.

Yesterday felt like a reward for the rest of summer. The sun shone all day, hardly a cloud and only a gentle breeze. In reaction to the lovely weather I stripped the bed, changed towels and got everything washed and out in the line. Not much of needed to be washed but I really wanted it out in the sunshine. That was it as it's back to black and get skies.A neighbour strolled past with her dog which promptly called in to say hello. She and I ended up having a couple of small gin and tonics, an unexpected and very welcome visit. This morning my exercise class is back on after a three week break, thank goodness. I'm picking up a friend to take her, she's keen to give it a go. She lives beyond where the class is held so I need to leave a bit earlier. As I've been writing this the rain and wind have started, it's like a winters day all over again. We have a yellow weather warning but...really! ☹️ EDITED to add photo. And now there's been lightning and a huge crack of thunder.
I hope that everyone is having a better start to the week.12 -
Morning Gers and all,
Sun is beginning to peep through, it’s going to be a hot one today.
Treated myself to an extra hour in bed this morning, got up at 6. I enjoy my early mornings of crocheting, with a coffee by my side.Yesterday, was a quiet day. We did start to watch the Olympics Closing ceremony, but I admit we switched off early, plus I needed my bed as I was tired.Plans for today are to Flylady, and if it is not too hot go and visit mum.
Snoozer, many belated happy anniversary wishes.
dp1, lovely to hear that little one is getting her appetite.
Take care all.

Morning all.
The sun's shining here and it's going to be really hot. Such a difference from where you are Gers!
The washing is out on the line and I need to do some food shopping but the gardener is due at 11am so need to time things so I can chat with her. I completely forgot and paid her twice last time she came so no payment due today!
Unfortunately my back is still sore this morning so I'll take some more paracetamol but it will limit what I wanted to do around the house.
We had a good music session at the pub last night and I've arranged another one with the Landlord for the end of September. A friend has now messaged to suggest playing at her house one weekend in September so that will be good fun.
Hope the DC appears today Mehefin and everyone has a good day.9 -
Morning allJust back from my walk, a shorter one as it's quite muggy out there this morning. I'm just going to make some Twinks before it gets too hot as my DS is popping in on Wednesday as we wanted to use his pickup to transport something that won't go in our car and has requested them to take home and I won't have time to make them tomorrow.Gers sorry to hear and see the horrible weather you're having. This year has been a strange one for weather and the strong gusts of winds that never seem to have stopped. This afternoon I'm finishing the last of a 12 book series by, if anyone else is a fan, Stuart MacBride. I started reading these during the COVID lockdown and am sad they've come to an end as the characters have been so well written.I'm with you Peony about the Olympic closing ceremony. Saw on the news what Tom Cruise did. That's nothing to what our dear Queen did by jumping out of a helicopter!Have a good day all and hope you get the news you're waiting for Mehefin x7

Moring, it's 20 degrees already and promises to get to 26..I made a whopper of a mistake yesterday, started watering the tomatoes, forgot I was doing it, emptied a half full waterbutt of water which has now soaked into the greenhouse floor. I'm such a div. This means mains watering from now on...Oh had a flat tyre so had to get a taxi to work and I found a nice present on one of the garden chairs this morning [ not our cats, they were inside] so have cleaned that up...Going to costco today with OHs mum, and then to look at a plumbing place with him to look for wall panels [ instead of tiles] and toilets and shower trays..Everything is booked to go to Italy, the hotels on the way and the chunnel, and OHs flights so we're ready for that bit at least. Just have to find something to wear to the wedding now...I have been mulling over a house move. I found out last week how much these houses are selling for, so that has prompted a think about mortgages etc...Mehefin fingers crossed for today. Gers, I would love t move to Scotland apart from the weather. I moved from Wales for a job and the sky, and now I'm used to it being better weather than there...Happy excercising! Chris, I did read the first one in the series when it came out but forgot about them then. I also read his sci fi one, Halfhead which I thought was excellent, wish he would do more [ or maybe he has and I haven't looked properly] . Anyway, hugs for anyone who neds one, hoping things get better for all...Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi8

Morning All
There's been thunder and lightening going on since 6.30 this morning with torrential rain on and off. Such a change to the warm and sunny weather of yesterday.
Hope the little one continues to improve dp1, same with your DDad.
Enjoy the exercise class Gers.
Planted some turnips at the new allotment yesterday, I would imagine they have been washed away now. Also moved lots of compost from the big dumpy bags to the plot, wish I hadn't as I have a really sore neck today. Covered the potatoes with compost so it is beginning to look like a proper plot but not very hopeful for anything growing properly this late in the year.
Last day of the holidays for me, back to school tomorrow and the children come back on Thursday - little one included. I've had a sneak preview of her in her uniform, not sure she likes it!
I'm off to Ikea with a pal today - just to look!
Happy Monday, take care. XX

Morning all, we had a lovely day out yesterday and went to a local beauty spot where the views are spectacular. I did a bit of walking but my legs are aching today, shows me how unfit I've become. We went to the small local steam railway and watched the train ( didn't realise it was running and it was full or we would have had a ride 😕) so we had a coffee instead. We stayed to watch the Lancaster plane and it flew low right over our heads, my what a sight.
It was hammering down with rain during the night apparently, happily I was fast asleep for once and missed it. I have put a load in the wm but it's now raining again 😠 Don't know whether to put it out or not 🤔 Hopefully we'll go over the van later if it dries up as there are still a few small tasks to be completed, if not there's plenty in the house to do.
Snoozer happy belated anniversary, sorry I missed that.
Mehefin fingers crossed that today will be the day.
Peony and Crisca I too gave up watching the people dressed up like mummies, I thought that was creepy.
taff you have so much going on in your head, Italy flights/ chunnel, wedding, builders and now a house move ! I don't know how you do it !
WL hope the back gets better soon.
dp1 hope little one comes home this week and recovers well.
Gers sorry about your weather, you seem to be bearing the brunt of it. Enjoy your exercise class.
Hugs to anyone in need

Good morning all
Thank you for the start @Gers, any chance you could send some of your rain down here to the south, it's so hot.
@mehefin sending you hugs and hope get the DC today.
@dp1 good to hear little one is recovering,
taff no wonder you forgot, I get exhausted just reading all you do.
Snoozer belated happy anniversary
Sorry if I've forgotten anyone
Take careIf you walk at night no-one will see you cry.12 -
Morning all, thunderous rain woke me but seems to have stopped now, very grey though with the odd bit of sun poking through. As predicted yesterday was a very lazy day at home, mainly reading, chatting to neighbours over the fence. I didn't even go for my usual walk.DH sorted out the bbq so that was nice and easy for me. He'd bought himself and DS some profiteroles for after. Leftover curry for later.Hope you had a nice anniversary Snoozer.Gers, I've been having the same thoughts re colouring my hair. It's very fine and doesn't do the condition any good One of my cousins who is 10 years younger than me has let hers grow out, and. it looks great, but it's all grey whereas only the front of mine is really.Hugs and spoons to anyone who needs them:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Morning all from mehefinland
Still waiting!! Just took a call from the FD and she is fed up with the wait too. She is going to try to push it forward as well. Haven't invoked PALS procedure yet, but seriously considering doing it if nothing happens soon.
Bad night's sleep, probably after falling asleep watching the Olympic closing rubbish. It was totally boring and way too long, and the opening ceremony was worse in my opinion. Must be turning into a Victor Meldrew lol.
Thundering here but only light spots of rain. Very strange weather!
Caught Scooby rubbing her belly on the damp grass. The noises she was making were quite comical; that sigh of relief. Lathered more Sudocrem on her when she got up, and put a flymask on her before she rushed off down the field. The other two can manage for now.
Hugs and spoons as always
