We are giving away a range of media editing software to each of the 12 winners of this issue’s competition in association with Sony Creative. Acid Music Studio 7, Vegas Movie Studio 8 and Sound Forge Audio Studio 9 are all part of Sony Creative’s Software’s Home Studio Range. And each prize bundle is worth £140.

Acid Music Studio 7 lets users make their own music, produce DJ-style remixes, add soundtracks to videos and burn CDs. You can record vocals, guitars, keyboards and other instruments by plugging a microphone or instrument into a PC sound card.

The software can also transfer the music to an MP3 player or burn it to a CD.
Vegas Movie Studio is for editing their home DVDs. The software has 44 DVD themes, each with customisable menus, buttons, backgrounds and navigation for a personal touch.

You can also add special effects, title pages and music or create an animated slideshow.

Soundtracks and sound effects can also be added by importing music directly from a CD or MP3 player. You are also able to add or record your own voiceover track.

Sound Forge Audio Studio 9 allows you to edit music and make karaoke tracks on a home computer. It can be used to record live instruments and vocals, and then balance the sound levels, trim unwanted sections, and synchronise the music with a home video.

It also comes with a voice eraser tool to remove vocals, so the track can be used for Karaoke. The software can also be used to convert audio files to MP3, WAV, WMA, QuickTime and Realmedia formats for the web. All three pieces of software include Show Me How tutorials, to guide you through the creative process with text dialogue boxes, pointers, and guides.
