Halogen Cookers

I saw an advert in Radio Times as well as in various Sunday papers for a small halogen cooker that self-cleans and sits on the work surface - cost about £39.99 (JML do them for £49.99). I wondered if they were any good and were they worth the money? I live on my own and although I have an electric cooker it hardly seems worth putting it on just for me - I have a basic microwave and a slow cooker and wondered if this halogen thing would be more cost-effective.

If you have one, please can you let me know if it is easy to use and cheap to run?

Thanks

halogen cookers!! nasty! once had one in a rental property - riuned several pans as it got hotter than gas!! as controlable as the weather!! once a pan overheats and the contents boils over it is nearly impossable to clean with the strongest of chemicals - avoid halogen as if it were th plaque!!
