VW Roadside Assistance (AA)

I have VW Breakdown Roadside Assistance (which is the AA) with my new VW.

Is it possible to get a report of all my calls to them preferably with some details i.e. the reported fault and the fix?

    Why not ask them?

You would probably need to make a subject access request to the VW assistance line, they could then provide you with calls and details of what they did.

This will only be the VW assistance line as you say it is a contract with the AA so if you have spoken to VW directly about the faults these calls would not be included as well.

I'm in a bit of a tough situation, my car is 3 weeks old. I have now called VW Breakdown Roadside Assistance for the third time (at 9pm last Saturday night) and the car is sitting on my driveway with the check engine light on.
On the first occasion that they were called there were several faults all of which were deemed not significant so they were all cleared, one of them was P23AD which is a problem with a NOx Sensor.
I don't know if the fact that this fault existed was ever communicated subsequently to VW who have now had my car on 2 occasions to fix other faults.
I have told VW about the P23AD fault but - in my opinion - they ignore me and simply go on what their diagnostic tools tell them.

I decided overnight to pursue a different course of action, the check engine light is a demonstrable fault on a car that is less than 30 days old, albeit a lease car.

3 week old car. You should not have let them clear the faults, no matter what they said. It should have been taken straight back to dealers.

All VW BA, is. Is a number to contact AA. Many manufactures have these agreements with AA/RAC & you just get put though to AA/RAC staff, who just use a different greeting, as they know the number dialled.

They use different vans too. The vans are always a VW (not a Ford Transit Custom), they are silver and liveried as VW Assistance.

But the rest is the same as the AA, the AA run their operation so to speak. Maybe when the silver vans are all busy they might even send a yellow Transit.

Since a VW Dealer will most likely scan the car for faults themselves, your telling them its P23AD and them ignoring it is somewhat irrelevant, if they scan it and the P23AD code is still stored as a fault code.

Are you trying to use the fault as a reason to reject the car within the first 30 days? I don’t think that will work if it’s a lease car.

If it's driveable, take it to the dealer without clearing the codes (or ask the AA not to clear the codes if they attend again after a repeat fault, they should agree to this).
The AA should be able to send/email their records on request but it may only be a record of what the patrol left with you anyway (presuming they did),
Let the lease company know of the issues as it'll be them you raise any complaint/rejection request

My experience is, the AA always send an email of the "writeup" the patrol man has done anyway. Its up to you while he attends, to sweet talk him into providing info to support your case or whatever.
