Just a quick one form Mehefinland.
Supposed to be hot hot today so whizzed up to let the girls out before the flies got too bad. Where's this sun? 9 tenths drizzle and a cool breeze more like. I'm sure the forecasters stick their head of the window and see what it's doing, and then get it wrong
Still in limbo land. Think I may take GERS suggestion and invoke PALs if nothing happens tomorrow. It's getting embarrassing when people inquire after the funeral!
Found 2 lovely non traditional poems to use on the day which resonate with me and hopefully the attendees ( can't say congregation ; it smacks too much of church, and this isn't a religious celebration).
Ooh there was a flash of sunshine just now- perhaps I am doing the aforementioned weathermen an injustice.
need to crack on with the monotony of waiting , can find plenty that needs doing, just need that injection of enthusiasm
Have a good day all, whatever is happening in your lives
Hugs and spoons as always ( and if anyone has a spare hug, please send it my way)
Mehefin x

Morning folks and thanks MEHEFIN - a spare ((HUG)) is coming your way. And lots left over for all our other poorlies, worried or just fed up. We are forecast 25 deg today and tomorrow and already the sky is blue and the sun is shining. I need to go out and water all the plants at the back before the sun gets round on them. I think it might be a bit too warm for sitting out in so will enjoy the last day of the Olympics instead. How the marathon runners are coping in this heat I don't know.
It's my eldest DGD's 20th birthday today but we won't be seeing her, she is out with her mates instead! But she did come over to share the family get-together for youngest DGDs meal out on Tuesday. Unlike the youngest she makes up for it in size. She would make two of me and I'd easily get both my feet in one of her shoes!
Last night we were at the concert to mark the end of the summer school week my dance star DGDs have been attending. The first half was an assortment of dance styles and the second half was sections of the Don Quixote ballet, so something new for them to learn and us to watch!
Have a good day folks if you can and again copious ((HUGS)) for all in need. And thanks for the promising update on your DGD and DD DP1. Take care all and be safe xx

Morning all
Been MIA for some time due to various reasons. We were on holiday in Devon and had to come back early as DH had a recurrence of his chest infection. He got more antibiotics from the Out of Hours Service at home but we still ended up in A&E at 4am Saturday as his chest/coughing/choking was so bad. They were very thorough and luckily there are no further problems but he still has such a dreadful chesty cough all the time, which doesn't seem to be improving.
Anyway, I've now just gone to put up the whirligig washing line in the garden and pulled my back a bit lifting it from the garage. Such is life and we just make the best of it and carry on.
Have been watching lots of the Olympics, so will miss that when it's finished. Today I have a piece of pork to roast and then I'm off to an evening music session in a pub in Wendover.
Lots of hugs for Mehefin and anyone else who might want one. Have a good Sunday.8 -
Morning Mehefin and all,
Mehefin, a hug is on its way. I feel for you with the being in limbo, I do hope you get the paperwork through tomorrow.
Nan, so sorry to hear of all the troubles you are currently going through, thinking of you and your family.
dp1, so happy to read that little one is improving, such a relief for your DD and you.
Thank you all, for your kind words about dad.
I’ve been up since 5am, a fibromyalgia bad back, so got up to use the heated back pad, in front of the fan! Been crocheting a scrap blanket for the sofa, it is getting large! I have so many blankets now, I am thinking of knitting cardigans and jumpers instead as it will take me much longer. I have one more blanket wool on its way, and then from next year it will be knitting, decision has been made.
Not much else planned for today, I do have the WM on, (don’t usually on Sunday), but I want to make the most of the good weather. Will get all the blankets, dressing gowns washed ready for autumn/winter. It’s weird, I wash them at the end of winter, but I still like to redo at this time of year too.
I also need to reconsider my diet. Since turning nearly 60, I seem to get nauseous very easily after eating certain foods, I used to have a cast iron stomach, but no more.
Take care all.

Morning all, thanks for the start Mehefin. I'm sending hugs your way & hope you hear something soon.Nanny sorry you've had bad news about dear Mr.Fix It. I really hope he can be helped. Hope DGS doesn't eat you out of house and home, but they are a good distraction aren't they.Peony, condolences on your loss. It's a lovely day here. Not sure what plans we have today, if any! The curry was enjoyed last night, delivered very swiftly so we ate the starters during half time of our teams match on tv, & waited until after full time for the mains. As ever plenty left for tomorrow. DH went to the butchers and got some bbq stuff for later, makes it easy for meDp1,really pleased to hear there is some progress with little one's recovery, bless her.Take care all, plenty of hugs for those who want one X:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Morning All
Looks like it will be a nice day, the cloud is high and the sun should be shining soon. I'll wash the throws from the living room to give them a freshen up.
Have a hug Mehefin, hope the certificate arrives tomorrow.
Sorry you lost your Dad Peony, a hug for you too.
Hope your DH recovers quickly WL.
Really pleased to hear that the little one is making progress dp1.
I finished digging over the allotment yesterday, will go back and put some more compost on today. The potatoes are starting to sprout and someone gave me some leeks yesterday so they are planted - things are coming along although my back and legs were aching by the time I had finished!
Hope you all have a peaceful Sunday, take care. XX8 -
Hi everyone,
It's our 45th anniversary today, for some reason I'm finding it harder to believe than the fact that I'm old enough to get the pension. We went out for a meal last night - I stuck to fish so my stomach was fine and I was able to have half a pudding as well.
I'm not looking forward to the return of the very high temperatures, I find it difficult to do anything when it's so hot.
This is such a boring post I'm tempted to delete it but I won't because I want to send my best wishes to anyone who needs them, especially Mehefin and Nanny.
Have a good day.9 -
A quick hello as I have a list as long as several arms as usual and want to get some things done before the predicted heat.
Hugs Mehefin - take some time for you too and I hope you get some things sorted asap.

Morning all, so much for a lovely day, it's drizzling here. We had a lovely time binge watching The Umbrella Academy with DGS, all 6 hours of it only interspersed with getting food and drinks. We've already had an early SOS call from Dad as he's lost his hearing aid in the bedroom somewhere so Mr Fix It has gone to the rescue as Dad woke me up and I wasn't dressed.
I have emptied the DW as I felt lazy last night and left it till this morning. We are going out today, Mr Fix It has a planned route but I need to know where before we go. He took me on a mystery tour once and learnt his lesson as I wasn't amused, he won't do that again 😂
Hope everyone has a good day. Take care all
