Santander second user id quandary

Daughter logged in to her Santander account, opened a savings account and transferred £50 into it from her current account to qualify for their upcoming prize draw. All quite straightforward except that she then received letters detailing her new logon details! Both accounts display under her original logon id.
It does say that if the new login is not used within 30 days Santander may (not will) deactivate. First thought was to let that play out but wonder what the next steps might be from Santander's perspective given that the trigger was a customer opening an account that they would presumably need to access.
We are also overly curious to see what would be displayed if she logs in under the new id!
Back in the good old days of secure messaging she could've just sent a message explaining. She hasn't the time or inclination to call them and it's hard to imagine the chatbot coping plus that's also a time issue even if you end up with a human.
The likeliest outcome is that she'll log in under the new id to see what's there then do nothing further with it though subsequent inactivity could raise issues despite transactions still happening on her accounts via her original id.
If anyone has experienced similar or has any thoughts / suggestions we'd be most interested to hear.
