Car Hire Excess Insurance Cover
I don’t know if any of you have been shocked by the outrage prices quoted by car hire companies to cover the excess applied, in this case £68 for less than 24 hour period for a £1,600 excess. I have found a company called 'reduce my excess.co.uk' that charges £5.95 per day. Trust Pilot reviews positive.

Try Icarhire insurance, very good, offer European annual policy. I've had to make two claims over the years and they are very efficient and helpful - unlike hire car companies!"You've been reading SOS when it's just your clock reading 5:05 "0

Thanks but they don't insure anyone over 80 and I am 83. Reduce my excess won't insure anyone over 84 so I may have a problem after November.1

I've just paid Enterprise £25 per day to cover their excess of £2000 on a large van hire. Luckily I'm only hiring it for one day, but that excess was a bit much for me to swallow. The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.0

Try Questor Insurance - I've used then for car hire excess cover. I've never had to claim so don't know how that would go, but I chose them after seeing a lot of positive reviews. I can't see an upper age restriction in the policy but it's worth checking with them first. UK and Europe annual cover was £44.AlwynP said:Thanks but they don't insure anyone over 80 and I am 83. Have a look at MoneyMaxim | Compare Car Hire & Excess Insurance
It will quote a lot of different excess quotes and when you put your age in (84) it still comes back with quotes.0 -
I've used Eversure as it was recommended by Martin on this site.
Think there is a discount code too for MSE.
