Morning all, thanks Gers for the start, enjoy your coffee!
Hoping for a day where I don’t have to go out anywhere. Started chopping down dead things in the garden yesterday and left a huge pile so will continue with that and shred it so it fits in the garden waste bin. Also have a load of wood marked up for cutting and sanding for making some quirky rustic signs - it’s mainly bits of salvaged pallet wood. Oh and the lawn to mow too.
It is supposed to be warm, then hot tomorrow though it’s grey and dreary at the moment.Happy weekend.AA10 -
Morning all from Mehefinland
Yesterday was a day of frustration, just waiting. In desperation I called the bereavement team at the horsepital to try and get an update and chivy it along. Bottleneck appears to be the ward doctor's sign off on the paperwork ( probably due to shift pattern, hope he isn't on leave!!). When I mentioned we were already over the statutory limit for reporting a death they were quite unconcerned. That's ok for them ,but I/we are in limbo and can do b all to move things along.
Sorry, rant over!!
next door came around for a chat - she was off to see Billy Joel in Cardiff - I was quite jealous for a short while, but big crowds and me don't bode well at the moment. Tickets were selling for silly money - you could have bought his whole output of music on CD several times over. Perhaps I'm just out of touch with that element of modernity. Ask me the price of a bale of shavings and I'm your man lol.
Bit concerned about Scooby, she has some scabs on her abdomen which are obviously bothering her as I caught her kicking at them again. Copious amounts of Sudocrem applied, and she seemed a little happier. She is back on her heels a bit ( a result of laminitis) so need to keep an eye on her. Just one more thing to worry about.
Right, need to get a wiggle on and try to sort out Dawn's mobile. She was with mrT and I want to see if I can transfer my number from my steam driven old beast to her more modern one. I am pretty sure it can be done, but I think there may be some issues. Also I will need to take on the payment as it is still in contract. What was that about 1st world problems!!
Hugs and spoons as always, and thank you everyone for your virtual support.

Morning All
There has been biblical rain this morning although it seems to have stopped for now. Once I've had a shower I'll put a wash load on and hope for the best as the forecast isn't too bad for the rest of the day. I put the bedding out when I got home about 5.30 last night and it dried in no time with the sunshine and strong breeze.
After picking peas and beans I shelled them all and put them in the freezer yesterday, my winter store is coming along! The broad beans are finished now so I took them out - perhaps the courgettes will be a bit happier as they've been terrible this year, grow to look like proper courgettes then rot.
Oh Nanny, what a worry, hope things improve soon.
Same for you dp1, the little one needs a break.
Good to hear your house sale is going ahead Coxy - fingers crossed.
Hope that Certificate arrived for you Mehefin. I was thinking of you yesterday when I was at a friends for lunch - she loves sunflowers and has quite a few dotted around the house.
Strangely the sun is now shining so I may get along to do some more digging, best get ready.
Have a good weekend if you can. Take care. XX10 -
Morning all, thanks to Gers for the start off, it's raining here.
I haven't slept much as we had some bad news from Mr Fix It's oncologist yesterday, seems his cancer cells are on the rise again so he needs a scan. The results will then decide if he needs chemo. What have we done to deserve all the carp that has been thrown at us in the last 8 months, first my cancer, then Dad's stroke and now this, we must have been very bad people in a previous life ! Sorry to vent to you lovely dailies, you all have your own problems to deal with.
DGS is coming today to watch a TV progamme with us and I expect his visit will consist of him eating lots of food too. You'd think he'd be the size of a house but no, however he is growing upwards again and is about 6'2 and he's not 15 till Sept 😲 DGD is very tall too and but slimmer than her brother, must be the Welsh air 😂
Right enough waffling, I'd better get in the shower and then get dressed.
Take care all

Morning,
Sorry, to have been absent again, I have been popping in, as and when, and thinking of all of you.
My dad died 3 weeks ago, we had the funeral last week and mum is coping well.I am slowly adjusting after many years of being on call as both mums are in nursing homes now, so no more running up the lane to the latest emergency. I hadn’t realised quite how knotted up my stomach had been in.Just seen about 10-15 bluetits flying around outside using the bird bath, lovely sight.
Plans for today are to wash the bedding and get it out on the line as we are due sun, although cloudy at the moment. I need to work on my sister’s crochet throw as I want to gift it to her in a month’s time. I have currently been working on a scrap v stitch blanket for myself as it is mindless and I can do it while watching the olympics, but I want to prioritise my sister’s throw now as it is niggling me that I still haven’t completed it.
Also, I need to potter around tidying up, after we sold mum and dad’s home I seem to have gained lots of their bits and pieces which I now need to decide what to do with.Take care all, and thinking especially of all who are struggling.

What a nightmare for you @mehefin - perhaps time to bring in PALS they can push things along nicely. So sorry about your latest rotten news @Nan, it does often seem so unfair when things like this happen. I hope that your lovely Mr Fix It can be fixed a bit more. Hugs to you both.My condolences to you and your family @Peony. Take some time to look after yourself now, you deserve it.@Camelot - it's not rained here today, yet, though it looks as if it did overnight.Right, had two coffees now time to move myself.8

Morning all, thanks Gers. I think we have similar weather AA, grey and dull! Well done with the winter veg prep CamelotMehefin, so frustrating for you with the certificate delay, I hope you get it soon. I trust the sudocrem will do a good job on Scooby too.I've been missing for a couple of days as I've been looking after the DGC, had to be at DS before 8.The 1st day we caught the bus into town so we could have lunch at their favourite cafe, then headed back to ours with a view to going on the park until heavy rain stopped that idea. Yesterday DGD had a lie in (envious moi ?
) then we decided to go to the cinema up at the retail park, which they enjoyed. I didn't enjoy paying the ridiculous price of over £31 for 1 pack of sweets, 2 drinks and 2 popcorn
My own fault really, they could have shared 1 popcorn, they were massive. DH had finished work early so after a bit of shopping, picked us up and took us back to DS. I was shattered by the time we got home - luckily tea was just butchers burgers, so soon done and feet up. Not sure what tonight's meal will be yet.
Out later this morning for DGS friendly football match, makes a change not having to be there before 9.Take care all.:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)9 -
Morning allNan you really have been going through the mill at the moment {{hugs}} to you and your DH. Mehefin fingers crossed that you get that phone call very soon. Peony my condolences to you xJust finished making rock cakes and had to sample one with a coffee to make sure they're up to scratch!Hopefully if the weather forecast is correct we'll have a BBQ tomorrow so that will need a clean as we've not used it this year yet. Must be a record!Footie later then Olympics. Sporty day, again!Have a good day if you can everyone x8

Morning folks and thanks GERS. Oh dear it's all bad news on here so far today. PEONY, condolences on your loss. MEHEFIN it's frustrating when you are faced with people with no urgency in them. Hope you are not waiting much longer. NAN, not very good news for Mr Fix-It either. You are having more than your share of worries this year. Dp1 I hope there was better news waiting for you when you got home. ((HUGS)) for you all and anyone I have missed.
I was up and at 'em early doors as DS was coming at 8.00 a.m. to cut the front hedge back before they left for the airport for their hol in Gran Canaria! Talk about last minute job! He has been trying to fit it in all week but time kept running away from him, bless him. Anyway it's done now and looks much tidier - which is more than can be said for the rest of the front garden that I have given up on this summer. My useless legs are not up to gardening now.
DD has just texted to say she is coming at lunchtime with a jumpsuit that needs altering. It'll be a body's work trying to get my sewing machine out from under the stairs. Right at the back and buried under a mountain of other stuff. I'll be stressed out before I even start on the jumpsuit!
Have a good day folks if you can and again ((HUGS)) for all in need. Take care all be safe xx

Morning all,
A good idea of @Gers to contact PALS @Mehefin - being in limbo is not good. Hope the phone transfer can happen quickly for you too.
Oh @nannywindow sorry to hear MrFixIt's news - sending viritual hugs and hope you get some answers from the scan soon x
Condolences to you and the family @peony40 - crochet is a great way to relax and take your mind off things x
We are taking Mum out today, the weather is currently warm and dry and a scorcher is predicted tomorrow. I had planned to tidy the garden tomorrow so will need to do that early/late.
Have a good day all,
