Everyone wants a lot of money to cover me and husband, elderlies with pre-existing medical conditions  - fair enough, but do they pay out? It's always cost me a lot, owing to health, but we've never had a claim fortunately! Have researched and looking at one of these 5
RIAS
Good To Go
Select and Protect
All Clear
Just Travel Cover.
Does anyone have personal experience of any of those please? Good or bad please. Many thanks

I've only claimed once and that was for the deposit for a holiday apartment.  The cost was the same whether 1 person or 2 occupied.  The airline refunded their charges in their entirety.  I was unhappy that although we paid the additional premium for 2 people we got clobbered for 2 x excess.  Had I been travelling alone I would have had lower insurance costs but got more money back.  I really felt screwed over but the insurer wouldn't budge.

I'm disabled, so pre-existing conditions. I'm with Admiral and they've been brilliant the one time I had to claim.

No experience of any of those, but we have had to claim. 2018, when husband was early 70s & I was late 60s, both with several pre existing conditions. I was hospitalised for a week in Thailand with Dengue Fever & husband was treated for same as outpatient. Horrible illness & expensive hospital stay, but claims were eventually paid in full. Had to pay initial fee around £2k on CC before they would admit me.
We were, and still are covered through Nationwide. Underwriter is now AVIVA & Worldwide annual cover only available with packaged account costing £13 per month. Even with additional cost for all our pre existing conditions, it’s still good value for us.
