My Loyal 12 month Fix with Octopus is due to end in September 2024

My Loyal 12 month Fix with Octopus is due to end in September 2024, do I renew it for another 12 months again, or go back to Flexible? As the prices are due to go up October 1st 2024, is it better to buy the fixed now, or go to Flexible?

Fixes are moving up in response to rising wholesale prices, and given that a rise in the SVR is now a certainty, if you can get a fix at less than the anticipated level of the new SVR it would seem silly not to. You might pay a little more before Oct 1st and of-course prices could come down again later in the term of the fix, but all forecasts at the moment are for higher prices to stay for a while . And if you can find a fix now with no exit fees, that shouldn't be a worry anyway.
  • This week I chose fix with them... elec 65.37/21.58..... Gas 29.49 / 5.55..... Don't know if good or bad but at least peace of mind.fo 12 months

    No delay replied immediately
  • I believe you can change to a new tariff about 49 days without incurring a fee, check with Octopus first, my fix was more than the current standard tariff, so I just transferred to that.soon after I decided to transfer to their July fix, I also delayed it for 30 days as it is more than the standard one. Hope this helps.
