Savings money on weekly shop

I would like to save money on regular shopping and use cheapest online delivery passes.

I use Tesco Clubcard plus and get an additional 10% off twice a month.
I'm also happy to use things like Discount Dragon occasionally.
I also shop at Aldi but am very careful what I buy there as some products are significantly more expensive.
I also use Home Bargains and B&M Bargains.
At times I take advantage of 50% off deals on UberEats and even though the inflated prices and delivery fees are so high, I find I can still make savings.
I don't use delivery but I believe you can save money by using unpopular delivery time slots if you're able to.
Hope that's of some help.

I have an Asda anytime delivery pass. Prices are low and I do all my shopping at Asda online - Often for delivery next day but I think I've had a same-day slot on occasion.

Don't use delivery so can't be of any help there, but be careful of Asda rewards. Not all they make it out to be. Example being, while ago I saw near the entrance a large rack hot cross buns. Price tag said £1.50 - get 50p in rewards. A few days later I walked past said rack again and just at that moment a lady was replacing the labels. I watched while she removed the rewards sign and replaced with a new price label, yes you guessed it £1.00 !!0

Delivery charges vary by time of day. Very early morning and late evening most can be as low as £1 while they would be £7 for during business hours on that same day. Always check for cheapest delivery time0

I'm all for saving money and indeed getting something for free eg bank switching offers. But value bread? No thanks. Value tinned tomatoes? Again no.
Those of you who know my spending habits know full well I always try to save the most I can. But I have to get a certain quality or certain level of service. Eg. Netflix with ads? Not for me.
But new glasses? 2 pairs of high index lens varifocals from Asda - £120. Probably a third of the price of Specsavers, Vision Express and Boots (according to my research).
Why? So I can have a decent lifestyle now and in retirement. Currently I'm on holiday by the Red Sea. Paid for mostly from bank switching in the past 12 months.
So saving money on a weekly shop makes total sense to me too.

Just asking out of curiosity. I do my food shopping at Sainsburys and M&S. There are some good deals to be had in both stores and I like the quality of the food. The nectar prices are good value too.
Sainsbury's is OK apart from that vacuum packed mincemeat, which is difficult to break up. Also Nectar deals are like Tesco clubcard deals, you are never quite sure if the original price was inflated in the first place.
However I will agree in that we also use supermarkets for the food they have available that we want to buy, the convenience of getting there, not just for the price
If we want mincemeat or burgers. Tesco or Aldi
A certain type of 0% alcohol lager - Tesco
Yoghurts and cooked German ham - Aldi
Curry ready meal - Waitrose
Toilet rolls, baked beans, frozen sea bass, fresh salmon, cheap box of a dozen real ales - Costco
When there is a 6 bottles of wine with 25% off offer, I go there wherever it is !
I know some say M&S is not expensive, but that is not my personal experience, so that is a rare visit.1 -
I always used to say I would never shop at Aldi or Lidl. However some of their products are really good and definitely worth a try. Much has changed since they first opened.
Some of their cheeses are excellent for example. Their dry cured bacon too.
They do an excellent passata in a jar. Sourdough crumbed cod.
It's relatively easy for me to just pop in as they are just around the corner from me.
Same for Tesco. Their polish range is exceptional value for cold meats and cheeses.
Never say never. It's worth a look even if ultimately you choose not to buy.2 -
I love Aldi. Their food often comes out highly rated in Which and Good Housekeeping when they do comparisons with M & S etc.
We do a weekly meal plan and shop to that which means we have little waste. We do have to do a top up shop at Tesco as there are some things that Aldi don't stock. It helps that our local Aldi is a 5 minute drive away.2
