Hello all, I'm still about I just haven't had the heart to post or even read along. Things have been a bit hectic for us lately as Dad has deteriorated and lost about a stone in the last couple of weeks because he's not eating. I did his shopping yesterday and got him some things that his dietitian who came on Wed suggested, sadly he nods along with everyone but then does as he pleases. I suppose at almost 95 he knows his own mind. Saying that some days his mind is rather scrabbled.
I had my cancer clinic appointment last week and I am suffering with a lot of side effects from my meds, unfortunately there's no alternative so I have to put up with it and let them do their job. I was also told that my last scan may take up to 4 months before I get the results 😲 It may only result in more meds anyway.
This morning I woke up with a bit of a chesty cough but I have stripped the bed and the bedding is in the wm, there's another load waiting too, I'm hoping it will all dry outside. Mr Fix It has his oncology review this afternoon so I hope everything is ok, I can't take anymore bad news this year. Sorry for moaning so much.
Mehefin I am sorry to read about your beloved Dawn, it was such devastating news. Many cwtches to you and DS.
AA hope everything works out for your parents.
RedRuby hope the monitor results are ok for your DM.
taff good luck with the builders, they seem to be getting well
Nothing else has stuck in my mind, sorry.
Hope everyone is well, enjoy your day everyone. Hugs to the poorly ones and those awaiting results.

Morning everyone
DD has deposited me on a seat on platform 6 at Nuremburg station with strict instructions not to get on the next train but to get on the next again one which leaves at 11.48! She is back at work today and has a meeting at 11.30. I've had a lovely time with her but we're both ready to have our own space again....anyone who lives alone will understand this!
While I've been away my mam has had to ring for an ambulance for dad twice...the first time he had a urine infection and didn't need to go to hospital...one of the paramedics kindly went to get his antibiotics. The second time he fell from his chair and hit his head so they had to go to hospital...he was fine but man has decided that she can't look after him at home any longer. So we have to start the process of looking for a care home...mam has left a message for his care manager to ring when she gets back from holiday. Is there anything else we should be doing? Dad will be expecting me to change her mind when I get home...
Little one...doctors took the tube back out of her nose as she was sick every time they tried to feed her through it. They had managed to put a tiny bit through her tummy tube yesterday but she is scared of it making her sick. She's still on the TPN too.She had been a bit happier yesterday and had spent an hour painting with the play nurse....so that was good.
Hope everyone has a good day today
Izzy enjoy your break and I'm hoping you have good weather because then I will too!9 -
Hi everyone,
Nanny, poor you it's hard enough dealing with one thing at a time but you have had such a pile on lately, moan as much as you like, you'll get sympathetic ears here.
Dp1, Little one has really been through the wringer hasn't she, hopefully you'll be able to have lots of Nanny cuddles soon. Also your poor parents, it's so difficult understanding their points of view but wanting to do what's best for them.
Mehefin, fingers crossed the DC comes through today, it's so hard being in limbo without it.
Steve's sister goes home today, we were so tired from Wednesday's drive and visit yesterday (3 hours each way) I think next time we'll have to find a hotel and stay overnight.
We'll probably have a quiet weekend.
Have a good day.9 -
Hello all,
Nothing much of note to say today – work (still very sparse), DH (still at home but hoping to hear about an interview next week), house move (still early days but going ahead). I have the excitement of a run home later to clear my head and reset for the weekend. We are seeing Mum tomorrow and have a free day on Sunday to hopefully do some gardening. It’s fish and prawn parcels for tea later.
Good to see you posting @nannywindow. Please feel free to vent and share on here as all of us at some point have needed to do so. I’m sorry you’re having bad side effects from your meds, how awful for you and really the last thing you need right now – sending hugs x
Lots of worries on the thread right now including @dp1’s DGD, @Florenceem’s DH and of course dear @Mehefin. Please know I’m thinking of you all.
