Morning folks and thanks GERS. We had rain overnight but I don't think it was heavy enough to water the pots out back. It's brightening up now but looks quite gusty out there.
Hopefully, at her second attempt, I have the hairdresser coming this morning, postponed from Tuesday when her OH got bitten by something and had to be taken to A & E as his arm swelled up and was very painful. If she doesn't make it today I might cry as it's well overdue for cutting already and is a total mess.
There are also numerous Friday Tidy jobs waiting in the wings to be fit in amongst the Olympic schedule. Must get my priorities right!
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for all in need. We seem to have a few MIA just now too. Take care all and be safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"10 -
The lovely bright morning sky soon became a mass of pink and now is a dull grey. Yesterday I ended up so cold I went to bed early and switched in the electric blanket for a while.@TA - fingers crossed that your hairdresser comes today.I have nothing planned for today although a few notions are swirling around my brain. Do I plump for idea one, two or just hang around? I'll. come to me! I'm slowly putting together a bag of stuff ready for my next visit to a CS so will probably hunt for things to go into it.
Healing and soothing thoughts to everyone.10 -

Have been reading along but just not time/energy for posting.Quick update - DMum - oncology consultation all ok, scan results good, dodgy blood results last month probably from when she had Covid. Back on regular treatment in two week.DDad - knee doing ok, not sure he’s doing all the exercises to the level he should but I’m out of energy for checking. He had some prostate related symptoms and our wonderful Drs did a PSA test last Friday, appt and examination yesterday and a urology referral straightaway, four hours later a phone call with a cancellation appt for 9am on Monday - never sure whether to be relieved or worried when it’s so fast!Barely managing to fit anything else of note into my days at the moment but trying to keep on top of chores and do some craft work too.Mehefin - you’ve made so many decisions and got things organised - do take care
Hope everyone else is ok and looking forward to the weekend

Morning All
Fairly bright at the moment but the rain clouds are looming - the bedding can stay inside today. I did get the wihte wash nearly dry yesterday which was a bonus, just needed finishing off in the TD.
Lovely day with the little one yesterday, she was on good form and is getting the hang of 'Go Fish'. Between that and Dobble we were all gamed out until library time. I shall miss having her for a couple of days a week, we've had fun.
Went to help at the new allotment yesterday, wasn't much use moving the poly tunnel from the local school to the new site in the community garden part with the little one being there but wheeled a wheelbarrow of pots round whilst the little one rode her bike. She helped to plant up a big container with plants we had been gifted and escorted me to and from the compost bags on her bike - there did seem to be a lot of imaginary traffic lights though!
I've made the bed again and will do a few jobs before going to pick beans then it's lunch at a friends which I'm very much looking forward to.
You sound so busy AA, hope the appointments go well.
Hope you get your haircut today TA and the garage clearing continues.
Are you ok Nanny? Haven't heard from you for a while.
Hugs for Mehefin.
Hope the scan goes well Florence.
Last day of the Olympics - DS2 went to Paris for a couple of days this week and watched volleyball, beach volleyball and some cycling in the streets - throoughly enjoyed it but said you wouldn't know there was anything going on it was so quiet.
Right, enough waffling, I'm off to the shower. Take care. XX9 -
Morning all from Mehefinland.
Still waiting!! Seems to be a pattern in my life. It was always waiting for the farrier/vet/farmer with the hay/van bringing the bedding. None of that will change significantly ( although I am thinking of buying bedding by the pallet load whilst the ground is hard and dry so they can deliver straight to the barn. In winter very often it has been a case of crossing the field with a wheelbarrow and it's blooming hard work!). It just this state of limbo whilst I wait for the DC. Even got the lady from the FD chasing the horsepital yesterday. Perhaps it will be today - I can only hope.
Been sorting through some old paperwork and took the opportunity to have a purge. Mrs SD on the declutter page would be proud of me. We still had the mortgage paperwork for this house, and I paid that off when I retired! It must have been a Justin... its recycled paper now. The search goes on for various bits I will need.
Our wills dated 1997!! have been retrieved from the archives and are waiting to be collected at the local office ( the original solicitors have been taken over/amalgamated several times since then and it was quite interesting tracking them down). I apparently need to take 2 forms of ID plus a copy of the DC!! So I am still stuck
The car insurance company have been good, as 1 car was in Dawn's name and I was on as a second driver. I was concerned that I might be driving illegally as the policyholder was deceased. They have given me a one month period extension of the cover to sort things out so I am still ok for now. I don't really want 2 vehicles so will have to decide what to do at some point. DS's car is aging so may gift him one of them. He commutes a reasonable distance daily and it may be a possibility for him.
Right off to charge the phone just in case I get 'that call'
Hugs and spoons

Good morning all
@mehefin I've always a dog in the past and have wondered if I'm too old now to have another.
Someone suggested I look at volunteering for the cinnamon trust it's a charity that supports elderly and terminally ill people keep their pets. You might be able to foster a dog
Hope you don't mind me suggesting
Please take care of yourselfIf you walk at night no-one will see you cry.9 -
Morning all
Dry but blustery here but we are due some sun later I have just put a load in the wm so I hope we do get some.My mum had had to wear a heart monitor for 24 hrs which has got to be returned today so I will go and pick that up and drop it back to the hospital, when I get back the dogs will need their walk and then the day is mine.
Not sure about dinner tonight I will go and look in the freezer after this, I know we have a quiche so it may be that with new potatoes and salad.
Mehefin you are doing so well I hope you get the call you need today, im sure your ds would appreciate the car if that’s what you decide xxx
Izzy have a good weekend away xx
Have good days all and take care xx8 -
Morning all...tfif is all I can say..Tea duties are not so bad but I did feel a bit of a slattern yesterday. They've been using the upstairs toilet and so I ran my hand up the bannister when I went as you do when you walk up the stairs only to realise it was absolutely filthy [ and nothing to do with them, just us over the years] . I'd taken the paint off it years ago so a very good scub with murphys oil soap and it came up a treat. This has just made me realise that I just don't see things anymore so I think I'm going to compile a list to jobs I could do for the winter. I've gotten terribly lazy about things lately. Besdies, ticking things off lists makes me feel like I've done something
First thing on the list though would be make a cup of tea
Izzy, have a lovely weekend away! You're as bad as vulpix on the declutter thread for houseswhat about one of those saniflo type ones? TA, hope you get your haircut..Gers, make a list! my new go to advice
SO, good shout re the dogs..mehefin, you think having paperwork that old is unusual? My parents still had pretty much every piece up to fourty years old and for cars that had already gone, appliaces that were defunct etc...You're not so bad...Hope the dc comes through quickly for you..hippiegirl, corned beef and potato pies you say? I just happen to have some of that mix in the freezer..hmm...And Happy Birthday WeeNancy! Have a good weekend all...
