Car insurance. Main driver.

My husband is the registered keeper of our car. The insurance is in his name with me as the named driver. Due to illness my husband has surrendered his driving licence. My question is do I by law have to change the registration and insurance documents into my name?

That sorts this year out, but worth asking the insurers if you, as a named driver but not the main policy holder, can accumulate any NCD. Some companies do allow that so long as you subsequently take out a new policy with them.
