I have found that the price of super unleaded varies widely but is largely too high and does not come down when normal petrol does
i found usually in Cheshire 164.9 today for shell super unleaded but in fife scotland I paid 154.9 last weekend for shell super unleaded with unleaded I think 144.9 in cheshire
why the vast difference ? And why does not come down when normal unleaded does?

Some might say ... they probably think anyone buying "Super" petrol has more money than sense.

Locally you can get Shell V power super for £1.46
Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.

My car requires it to run optimally.

    As do many cars.

Its sensible to use the fuel the manufacturer advises.

Nearly sure i paid 148.9ppl the other day.

It'll vary between stations, like regular unleaded.

    I use Costco for fuel.
Think it was £1:40 for the super unleaded equivalent.
    They have two octane levels.
Used to be 90 or 97. Not sure if it dropped to 95 for the super unleaded stuff, but I put it in my cars and they run well.

Happy to use E10 and easy to find it at less than 140p p/L. I was driving down the M40 this week and needed to fill up. Pulled into Warwick service for food and on the way  out noticed the unleaded prices started at 172 or so. Even so the pumps were pretty much 100% In use, they are people who obviously don't care how much they pay.

So pulled off at Banbury and filled up at the Tesco at 139.9p.

I usually buy E.ON - they've started supplying it right into the house which is great.  If I'm out and about and feeling extravagant I occasionally pop in a tank of DC.
