So energy variable direct debit.

I have recently renewed my tariff with So Energy in June. They didn't take a payment in July so I have contacted them and have been told I can no longer do a variable direct debit( as I want to just pay for the energy as we always pay too much ) We used to be able to do this on on our last tariff with them and paid much less. At the time of renewal i asked if we could still do it this way. We have now been told its a fixed amount(of their choosing of course) and if we want to do it any other way it has to be manually when we get the bill. Any advice please.

If that's the terms of the product you signed up to. Then your only option is to switch to something else which fulfils your requirements. Though is likely to be at a higher tariff.0
