My fix with Octopus ends October 16

I hope I get another offer soon
Can you not do another fix with them now?

BG allow you to move to another fix with them without any charge, if it suits you, during the period of your existing fix.
No its £75 penalty on each
No harm in asking especially on X as Octoous are nothing but inconsistent and one CS agent may let you do the switch early without penalty.
  • The rates mentioned in this thread are lower than what I can see on the Octopus website and what I am currently on (elec 22.43p, gas 5.83p). Are the cheaper rates just by email invitation?!

Oh, I thought regional pricing was just for standing charges. That’s my new thing learnt for today!!

This might help you realise how different the pricing is

    Decent sized differences.

A rise of somewhere in the region of 10% is pretty much baked in now. Wholesale rates are firm and have been creeping up in recent weeks. No one knows what will happen beyond the end of December but prices at present are higher than for the period before that. EDF have just released their weekly prediction for the price cap, and whilst Q424 has stayed the same as last week, Q125 has gone up from £1,724 to £1,745. I think fixes which guarantee no increase from present prices are on borrowed time.

The Octopus 12m fix has now increased, Aug 24 V1.

Yes I was right - EDF and British Gas pulled theirs yesterday as well. Wholesale gas up sharply again today. In isolation it means nothing - the price could drop by as much tomorrow - but the trend for some weeks now has been upwards.

I have just switched to Octopus Fixed - I have the option of returning to flexible, if the prices drop over the next 12 months - Its exit fee free !

If I was half as smart as I think I am - I'd be twice as smart as I REALLY am.

Quick question , I'm in the process of purchasing an electric car and as an Octopus customer I am about to sign up to the intelligent tariff . Can I obtain this tariff if I sign up to a fixed tariff via Octopus . I am on the standard variable at present.
