Issues with Android Auto

Hi all

Not sure if this one is best here or in the Motoring section, but here we go.

I'm currently driving a Vauxhall Mokka (2019) and connect my phone to it via a cable.
That allows me to use Android Auto for music, etc.

However, if someone phones me, I get the notification on the touchscreen and I can press Answer.
Once I do that, I can't hear them and they can't hear me.

If I only connect via Bluetooth, I can receive calls and everyone can hear each other.
I do not make calls while driving

I've checked the settings for Android Auto on my phone and can't see anything obvious.

I can't find anything on the car settings to do with it either.

Anyone any ideas?

TIA

Richard

Try unpairing AA from car & phone & then set up again. You should get a message about permission for call & contacts.

I got that when I set up Bluetooth but don't remember it with AA.  I'll try that and see if I missed anything

If you search for then select android auto in the phone settings, there is a permissions section that shows what is allowed/disallowed.

@flashg67 - I've just checked permissions and Android Auto has permissions for everything

I haven't had a chance to clear everything down when connecting to the car but that's on my list for today (if possible)

I've cleared everything on the car for Android Auto (just deleted all phones to start again) but I didn't see any options for calls.  I've checked (again) on my phone but couldn't see anything on there either.

Could the fact I connect via Bluetooth to the car first be the issue?

Make sure it's all set to use the phones ringtone and not the cars.

I'm 99% certain it's set to use the phone ringtone but that should be an easy check.  I did do a full "reinstall" yesterday but, as usual, no one phoned me while I was driving.
I'll get my partner to phone me while I'm in the car later and see if it's worked.

I would guess that had you phoned someone from the car, it would either work or not sound wise. Then ask them to call you back....😉😁

@RumRat:o I wasn't that brainy that day and still haven't had a chance to test it (one of those weekends)
