I feel that the practice on the Just Giving site to pre-populate a donation is misleading and unnecessary. Just Giving already receives a significant contribution from the donations that are made. There is no need for them to request more in this way. And I'm sure many users have inadvertently made the donation. The field should be blank allowing the user to make a considered decision. I did raise a complaint but to no avail. Would welcome anybody else's views on this practice. Thank you

I have mixed feelings, and I don't always make the requested donation, but I do feel that having a platform of this kind does have to paid for somehow, and does save charities a considerable amount of time over handling multitudes of small donations directly.
The only platform I am aware of which did NOT make a charge did not survive, and IIRC did not manage to pass on all the donations it had received.Signature removed for peace of mind1
