    I am retired, but I have substantial pension income, and taxable interest, dividends and capital gains. When I applied for my Barclaycard Rewards Card, I uploaded my Self Assessment Tax Calculation. They accepted that. In the OP's case, his taxable income will appear to be zero or near zero. Do not invite trouble. Be honest.
