I have to go to a hospital which we have to get a train and i claim ESA and PIP so know i can get my travel costs back.
But my wife claims Carers allowance as she cares for me so can we get hers back as well?

Appears some NHS Hospital Trusts do offer carers help with travel costs. But there is no UK policy on this, so the carer will need to ask the Hospital concerned about any help available. The comments I post are personal opinion. Always refer to official information sources before relying on internet forums. If you have a problem with any organisation, enter into their official complaints process at the earliest opportunity, as sometimes complaints have to be started within a certain time frame.0

An alternative would be getting hospital transport.

Again, this may vary, but non-emergency hospital transport where I am is only available to people who have medical reason for not being able to use public transport.gbhxu said:An alternative would be getting hospital transport. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
The Hospital PALS department will be best placed to advise, policies vary.

We have a friend who was in hospital for a while. Although he is eligible for hospital transport to get home they kept telling him that none was available. In the end we went to collect him as it was about 16 miles return.elsien said:

My husband was entitled to hospital transport but for a 1 pm appointment he would be collected at 7.15am and arrive at 12pm.
BUT transport back left at 1 pm.
So he would have to stay overnight and get transport hime at 1 pm the next day.
All for a 15 minute appointment.
Consultations only started at 1pm so there was no chanec of an earlier appointment.0
