EDF Standing Charge - paying twice?!
I was switched over to EDF when the company I was with went under and they are chasing me to change to a smart meter for which I am not keen.
My question is this - I moved into my house which was on the old Economy 7 set-up which I did not want or need so it was agreed that the 2 meters would be used and charged at the same rate though I had to send 2 meter readings.
I have noticed today that I am being charged 2 standing charges for the electric meters - is this right?

what you have probably got is two sets of pro-rata charges - do the individual lines states dates and days they are applicable?
i1 E7 - 1/1/24 - 12/2/24 42 days
stdn domestic 13/2/24 - 31/3/24 - 47 days0 -
So you have a complex metering system with 2 meters but are on a single rate ?You need to speak to EDF and insist you are charged only one standing charge under condition 22G of their standard licence conditions and have any previously charged amounts refunded.

Why not just switch to a smart meter and make your life much easier when dealing with suppliers?1
