Another very wet and windy day here. A flood warning and yellow weather one are in effect, and traffic on the Rest is diverted. Whilst the forecasted torrential rain hasn't arrived yet there's still time. It's all rather dispiriting. My whimsical nature piled in yesterday as I just had to get rid of the recycling material as it was annoying me. Luckily, the heavy drizzle stopped for about half an hour so I whizzed out with it and the glass. I was hardly home before the heavens opened again. I continued with re-organising the things in the utility room and did a washing load. No chance of hanging it out so it's in the airer upstairs.Who knows what today will bring. I'm off to shower so that I'm ready for it. 😀 Hugs and healing thoughts to all our lovely people here.11

Morning folks and thanks GERS. You are having more than your fair share of poor weather this Summer GERS, I hope you get a respite soon. It felt a bit chilly here yesterday after my heatwave week at the caravan but today is supposed to be warmer. Sadly not a lot of sun is on the forecast.
I got all the washing done that I brought back with me, some dried inside overnight and some out. during the afternoon. Very little in the way of ironing to do but no rush for that. DS stopped off on the way home for some groceries so the empty fridge is restocked and I kept my eyes averted from the frozen food section!
No fixed plans for today but I must at some point colour my hair. Hairdresser asked if it was ok for our little group of customers to be shorn tomorrow and I want my roots addressed in readiness.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, getting better or fed up. MEHEFIN I hope having your DS with you is helping you cope a bit better. Take care all and be safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"10 -
Monday again!Gers - hope the weather improves.Yesterday was cooler but still pleasant - was outside from 8-4 with barely a break, mainly completely emptying cleaning and refilling a large ‘shed! - lots of dust and spiders! Did manage to mow the lawn too. Dinner was supposed to be fish pie but the potatoes (for mash on top) were decidedly ropey so it finished up being soup and and cheese/biscuits!DDad seems to be doing ok, definitely fewer painkillers so will see what the physio says tomorrow.I’m hoping to sort some wood today to make some Halloween decorations and maybe even plan some Christmas (🎄) ones - I know it’s early but need to be ahead!Mehefin - do take care, I hope DSs visit was some comfort and you were able to chat through plans.

Morning all...cloudy and the tiniest bit drizzly today so far. I'm showered and dressed, we have a funeral for a friends mother today. Did the washing at the weekend, the only time so far with no dust and dirt flying around and cleaned the kitchen thoroughly. I looked in the oven because I'll be using it later and nearly gagged, it was so dirty, with grease and dust so ended up scraping that and brillo padding it. looks better but it's not clean clean. Not a lot else happened, I've been asked ot be a referee so I've got to get my formal posh sentence head on...should be fun, haven't a clue what to say so far.Mehefin, hope your son is being helpful to you, it must have come as a great shock to him too. Gers, sorry you're having such poo weather, fingers crossed for a respite. Florence, glad he's not still losing wieght, hopefully he'll get a diagnosis soon. TA, at least the weather was good while you were away! Allie, it is early for the C word but you do have to have your ducks in a row for craft fairs and the like. Take care everyone, be nice to yourselves.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi11

Morning All
What a wet and windy night that was, looking a bit better today but not much.
I managed to get some more digging done, over half way now but nothing will get done today sadly. The kitchen is being painted in the next few weeks so I sorted out a unit in the laundry and broke it up to take to the tip, a unit I had in the kitchen is now in the laundry and lots of 'stuff' thrown out - who needs 7 hammers? The kitchen is looking a bit bare so will have to look for something else once the painting is done.
Once the rain started I started knitting a cardy for the little one, she chose the yarn a couple of weeks ago and asked me last week if I had forgotten to make it when she saw the wool still in the bag. I got quite involved with the olympics whilst knitting, will be sad when it ends.
DD, DSiL and the little one were away in their tent box over the weekend and spent last night in Oban which was probably wetter and windier than here but they've survived - rather them than me!
Hope everyone is well and you and your DS are bringing comfort to each other Mehefin.
Take care. XX10 -
Morning all, it's looking a bit grim today & windy but not raining - yet!. A quiet day planned , I'll have the house to myself so a good tidy is in store. DH cooked the meat on the bbq last night so I didn't have much to do. We had a quick visit from DS2 and DGS on the way back to his DM, I gave him a football magazine I bought as a treat for playing so well on Saturday. He was pleased with that but it'll take some reading, lots of small print. No idea what to do for tea, but there is plenty in the freezer to choose from.TA well done on resisting the frozen sectionFlorence, good to see you have sold some stuff on Vint ed.Hugs and spoons continuing your way if needed.Take care .:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Morning all from Mehefinland
Starting to get a plan together and we are going for the cremation/internment at a later date. DS and TT have been very good so far and are quite happy to comply with my ideas. Off to see a Funeral Director later so that we can start the wheels rolling. DS is keen to see his mum and I am going to try to arrange that, as he can only have a few days here at the moment.
We had the biggest meal I have had in weeks last night, but I suffered for it in the night! Awake at 3am ( again).
Overslept as a result and got some very 'where have you been looks ' when I got to the nags. Quite comical in a way
Right lots to do , and I am in a better place today.
Hugs and spoons as always
