Octopus Fixed 12 Months

Hi,

Apologies if this is a silly question.  I'm currently with Octopus on the Flexible Octopus Tariff and wanted to change to the Fixed 12 Months Tariff.  I have tried and it seems to think I'm a new customer, although the emailed quote shows my account balance.  Is the fixed tariff only available for new customers?

Thanks

No it's available to anyone. Although not the best fix on the market.

Thanks for replying.  Which fix would you recommend?  I put my details into the Energy Club and although there were slightly better fixes, the savings were minimal based on our usage and they all had exit fees.  Just checking I haven't missed something obvious!

    Thanks

Octopus are very competitive for gas, typically one of the most expensive for 12 month fixed electricity.

Thanks, this is probably the best tariff for us then, as we use a lot of gas. I have a gas oven and we have just removed the electric shower.

You could fix gas and go for something like Octopus Agile, if you can avoid much use between 4-7pm, then can save some money compared to std tariff.

Thanks, I hadn't thought of that, I will look into it.

This is good advice gas fix seems good but the cheapest electricity fix I found was with outfox the market but that may well be a dual fix only

We are in Agile but that's a long boring story and it suits us very well, but if you dint fancy shifting usage then perhaps splitting where your gas and electricity sit is best.

Or go onto  Octopus Flexible  and install the Octopus Compare app which will tell you what you would be paying on Agile. Lots of us benefit from Agile without significant load shifting.

This person, from the inof supplied so far, woukd be a low electricity user, in those circumstances they will need to shift usage away from 4-7pm but yes in principle I agree with you but we have to be certain as Agioe for low users that have to use the 4-7pm time slots woukd we worse off.
