Chase - app suddenly request new code and photo ID?

Is this standard practice? I use a code to log in, but haven't yet been a member for a year.
After using the app/card today straightforwardly, I've just gone to log in and it says I need to change the code and upload another photo.
Does it do this periodically?

Have you changed device or reinstalled the app? I changed device and had to scan my passport again.doriangray23 said:Is this standard practice? I use a code to log in, but haven't yet been a member for a year.

Hi ... A couple of days ago I had to re-identify myself, photocard driving licence in my case, as my smartphone rebooted whilst I was in the app. Customer service advised that this will clear the id from the smartphone, necessitating another id verification. I've been a customer for 2-3 years and it is the second time this has happened, otherwise it's not necessary.doriangray23 said:Is this standard practice? Hmm... Nope, no app changes, no phone changes, no restarts or resets.
I had been spending in a new city (London), but nothing else had changed. I closed everything when the message came on as it seemed oddly sudden (I was on a train setting off back home) and now - hours later, back in my home county (in t'north) - I've logged in and it hasn't come back on. It let me proceed as normal.
Nothing else has occurred - no unexpected transactions etc, all is good. Just that oddity.0 -
Been with Chase for over a year and not had that problem.

Well I think you did the right thing dorian and thanks for raising the question here. I'd be curious as to what Chase Customer Service say.doriangray23 said:dealyboy said:

Chase app is still buggy after all this time, doubt they will have any explanation as that would mean admitting to their issues.
