Hi,
I am unable to contact my parents. How can i find out where they are, to see if they are OK? I think my siblings and their large familys are cutting me out of their will. My father phoned me two months ago and said i was due money in the will. I havent heard from  either my mother or father since. I no longer live in my home town but my siblings and their huge familys do.
They are all over our parents, or were. I cant do anything. I cant afford to travel back on any kind of regular basis.
How may i find out if my parents are still alive? Sorry it sounds so terrible, but my father did say he wanted me to receive some of the money. They dont answer my emails or phone calls for the last two months.
I am  certain that my siblings will do anything to get the will changed to cut me out of it, or maybe they have already done this. How can i go through the courts to do something about this? Is their a solicitor service i can pay to help me to get what i was left in the will? Or to find out  what the will actually said?

if your parents have died and probate has been granted then the will is a public document and you can download a copy from the government website

I might if misread this thread but your father contacted you re will money whilst he was still alive and he was talking about his will?. You now lost contact.. Do you know their address? is it possible you could contact their neighbours advise you have been unable to get hold of them and are worried.

So the situation is that you aren't in contact with your parents and hence don't know if they are still alive?

there are ways to solve this like perhaps being in contact with an old friend who will keep you up to date with news - or maybe there is one family member who is more approachable?

re the will - nothing can be done at present - your father has said what he has said and that is it. The will is most likely at home and only  he can change it whenever he likes.

You should go and visit them if you're fearful they have passed and establish better connections with someone as an emergency contact. You said you couldn't travel on "regular basis", but surely once every few months is doable? It's weather you want to see your parents or not.

    Mortgage debt start date = 25/10/2024 = 175k (5.44% interest rate, 20 year term)
    Q4/2024 = 139.3k (5.19% interest rate)
    Q1/2025 = 125.3k (interest rate dropped from 5.19% - 4.69%)
    Q2/2025 = 108.9K (interest rate 4.44%)
    Q3/2025 = 103.9k

If your parents have made a will that doesn't include you, then that's entirely their choice and I'm afraid that unless you can show that they were coerced into doing so or can make a claim that you are financially dependent on them then you wouldn't have any legal grounds to challenge it.

If you have no contact with them then it's going to be nigh on impossible for you to demonstrate either of those so I'd suggest you forget about whether you have been left things in any will and instead focus on efforts to try to re-establish contact with them and other members of the family if that's what you want

Do you want to know if your parents are okay, in which case make the effort to visit them and find out.
Or do you want to know about how much money they are leaving here in the event of their death because they are entirely different things?

Personally, I’d be far more concerned about my parent’s well-being.  Surely there must be someone you can contact – any of your aunts, uncles,  nieces, nephews, cousins? Their neighbours and/or friends? If you knock on the door and they’re not there, someone in the street may have a clue about what’s happened. Just to say you can’t travel often really isn’t good enough If you are genuinely concerned about their well-being.
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

Does their phone number still work?
(Though it might seem a bit odd just calling them to ask if you were still in their will for when they pop off.)
When my parents passed away, I expected nothing; indeed my father left everything to my stepmother and I fully supported that - it supported her through her final years and when her time came there was only a little left and I used my share I used to buy a keepsake.
My only regret is that I didn't earn enough to help them out until after they'd gone.

I earn enough to help my parents out and ave offered many times to do so, but they are too proud to accept any help from me, so I wouldn't worry about it; I expect your parents would have been similarly resistant to accepting money, even if you could have easily afforded to help them!
The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.

    Who's Will?  Who's died?

To me that reads as though Mum has died and left money to you.  Grandparent's Will?  You don't say if your father actually stated that it was his and your Mum's Wills that you are written into. I get the sense that you are not living in the same country anymore but can you write to your parents at their last known address.

If you can afford to pay a solicitor, surely you can afford one trip to see if your parents are OK?
