End of cheap Nespresso pods?

Distorted third party coffee pods that you have to buy in bulk of 100 for £27.99 (plus £2.99 delivery unless you subscribe) = ~31p per pod.
You can go to most supermarkets and get a sleeve of Starbucks on promotion (which may or may not have a relationship with Nespresso) for 27.5p per pod.
As others have said Kaffekapslen are one of the cheapest online, selling some 10p per pod.
Alternatively, discount sites, regularly sell reputable branded pods (like Starbucks) near expiry for ~15p per pod.
In any case, personally I agree with this comment completely:prowla said:I've not found any which are as good as the Nespresso branded ones, so getting a machine to make nice coffee and then putting not so nice coffee in it is a bit of a false economy for me.
I have a Creatista Pro and I generally use the branded Nespresso pods - but I generally whip up bargains from Facebook marketplace. By chance, just last week I managed to pick up 15 sleeves for £10 (+£6.19 for delivery), was someone selling their machine and was a nice blend of pods, all in date. While these opportunities don't come up everyday, they come up enough that I can restock using them!

One of my colleagues uses Wonky and really likes it.
Of the Nespresso and Starbucks ones I've tried, I've not (personally) liked any of them enough to repurchase, but this all comes down to personal preference.0 -
I drink mostly decaff, so I buy the sainos own brand @ £7 for 30. Sometimes they’re as low as £5 if there’s a nectar offer.
Off to check out kaffekapslen now!I like cooking with wine......sometimes I even put it in the food!0 -
There was a promotional display of Nespresso ( Starbucks) pods in our local Lidl at the end of an aisle ( not with the rest of the pods) last week. I didn't check out the price because I use their Dolce Gusto compatible pods. I loved their Lungo pods ( Which recommended product) but these have been discontinued. I am now on their Americano pods. I think the water you use has a lot to do with the taste as well as personal preference. We have our own water supply with no added chemicals.

Also haven't seen the Lidl Bellarom Dolce Gusto compatible pods either for ages.A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.0

Some Starbucks Nespresso pods still on a promotional unit at the end of an aisle today £2.75 for 10. Deluxe Nespresso pods with the rest of the coffee. Indonesian and Colombian, £1.85 for 10. Loads of Bellarom Dolce Gusto pods and Nescafe Dolce Gusto Pods. Interesting that there aren't coffee pods included in their XXL promotion like there usually is. So, maybe there is a supply issue. Distribution maybe different in different parts of the country ( as they produce different leaflets for different parts of the Uk).

I only tend to buy end of line or past the best before. Huge saving to be made.
Never had any issues with the L'OR/Carte Noir pods. In fact I prefer them to the high priced genuine Nespresso pods.
I tend to avoid the compostable ones when they are past their best before as they tend to go stale very quickly. Aluminium pods never seen to do that unless they get damaged.
I did notice some for £1.50 in £Poundland. Not tried them though.
Asda have some for £1.52 for 10.
Discount Dragon also have some CafePod 18 packs for just £1.99 if you like them strong!
If you check back each day sometimes they go down to 99p or they do a bundle deal.
I recently got some Costa Coffee pods from Heron Foods for 69p on a short best before.
Also my local Co-Op was clearing out Starbucks pods for 35p about 5 months back. I bought 27 packs on the basis they were being disposed of the next day had they not sold. Felt a bit greedy but the lass on the till assured me they had had no interest in them.
Last but not least, every so often L'OR have a website deal of a new Philips nespresso machine with £50 worth of free pods. Worth keeping your eyes peeled for that deal. Usually late October/Early November.
PS Very impressed with my Opal One pod machine. Got it for £35 from Cash Converters. Hotter than my old Dualit!

Quick update. L'OR have the Coffee Machine + 100 free pods on offer at £59.99 right now.
If you don't need a new machine, you can always use it for an Xmas gift! https://www.lorespresso.com/en_gb/offers

OP here. Lidl had their Bellarom pods back in my local store on Sat. Still £2.89 for 20 (14.5p per pod). Different packaging, so maybe different supplier. Not tried them yet. Question is, how many won't go back after the excellent tips here?1
